if it ain't stony it's a weed!

Nope--I got it from the mariculture section at the LFS....it didn't look good at the store, but I trusted my buddy that works there. I paid $100 for it, but it's been worth it! I've fragged it under 150w in my 90 and it's all green. I put it halfway in my 175 under 250w and it is brown without branches but has encrusted an amazing 5-6" area! That's why I put on there it loves light. It's growing FAST now shading alot of corals under it. Fora a size reference it was about the size of your pinky finger when I got it....it's larger than my hand now!

reeefer great tank- Where do one can buy a pink headed hippo, and a chromi.
J/k great pics

Thanks. My camera takes the pictures purplish/blue and that picture is after adjusting white balance. Its the best I can do with my low budget camera to get it as close to real as possible. :)

Ramsey, what kind of camera you using? You should be able to prevent that if you are using a dslr.

Reefer08,
Not trying to stir the pot but if all you did was adjust the white balance the picture would not look like that. The saturation is WAY up on the pic. You can adjust the color and white balance all you want but that wont affect the saturation and hue.

I've never seen a camera have a saturation problem like that......did you adjust it or no?

Not that its a huge deal because its easy to turn up the saturation till it looks really good, and everybodies monitor is different etc. but it would be nice to get a more realistic picture. Im sure your pictures are great with out being oversaturated. Looks like you have a beautiful tank going.

Hi, thanks. All I did was adjust the photo to remove the blue hue and adjusted the contrast. No saturation was done. The camera took a good picture except it added a layer of blue'ish purple (The camera was set to take pics in "cloudy" setting"). Im no photography pro so I don't mess with the pictures much, I just try and make it realistic. My tank literally looks like that and IMO the picture does no justice. My lighting plays a huge part in getting these colors. Radium + Actincs + Led.

If you are ever in Southern California you're welcome to come check my tank out in person. Its nothing fancy but im pretty happy with it.

Do you by chance have a pro color t5 bulb running? I have had pics come out like that when running one. For exampel here is a pic of my tricolor milli with a under a pro color bulb then with normal light.

Wow reefer08 I'm really impressed at your tank. People shouldn't judge others pics and try n depict them, but they do look very purple/blue not sure how you got that..FWIW, I like a variety of corals not just SPS IMO..Very nice Stony pics everyone!
