I created my own introduction thread, and for that I am sorry. I didn't see this thread when I did so. I am all about order following directions.

Anyway, I'm excited to be a new tank owner and learn from everyone. Hello from Acadiana!

Sup everyone!, my name is Willie / Will and im new to RC xD

i have been very eager to join this site and be apart of the community. I had been studying about marine aquariums for the past year + and finally took the plunge into the hobby. Although i just joined, i have been keeping a close eye on the site and seeing how geat everyone is and the knowledge that is shared on this site is amazing. Im going to be making a thread all about myself, my tank, and any questions i may have so talk to ya then! (;

Hey guys, New to the Marine Side of the hobby, Been keeping freshwater tanks for quite a while now, glad i did not jump straight into marine, as i understand alot more about water chemistry and alot of the other things that are in both sides of the hobby.
still very new to the marine, been keeping a mantis shrimp for about a month now, love the little guy.
have a 40 gallon marine tank, currently just live rock, Deep sand bed, and the usual equipment, (power heads, heaters, protein skimmer lights) that i'm slowly setting up.

Hi all, from down under :)

Hello RC,
My name is Jesse. I had FW tanks for many years in the past, but hadn't had anything for about 5 years. This year my girlfriend started a cichlid tank, so i decided to do what i had always wanted to and got into SW. I currently have a 90gallon tank, but as this hobby is quite addictive, i am already looking to upgrade:)

Another new guy

Another new guy

Hello fellow reefers! Found this forum the other day and have been reading my butt of since. I want to say thanks to all of you with the experience that have shared here.

I have kept aquariums for most of my life. A couple years ago I bought a green spotted puffer which I acclimated to full marine through a slow process. I still have the big guy and have gotten pretty good with keeping the water stable and him happy. He is in a 60 gallon tank that is FOWLR besides a lonely mushroom. Well since I have gotten comfortable enough I have decided to start my first reef.

I have a 30 gallon tank that I used some supplies from the 60 gallon to get going. I have started a thread in the nano section to keep a log on how everything turns out. I look forward to everyones input and I am open to any suggestions. Hopefully that thread may help another on the same journey.

Thanks again,

Clint

I've been reading obsessively here for the last three years or so, so I figured it was about time to register, stop lurking, and introduce myself.

Other than a planted discus tank my old man had for awhile while I was growing up, I have no real fish keeping experience My father's first career was as a marine biologist, and ever since I was little I have been fascinated with the ocean. I remember reading Cousteau's books when I was probably 12 or so.

As my parent's have been remodeling their house, they got rid of their old tank on Craigslist. My dad made the comment 10 days or so ago about how he still hopes to someday have a marine tank.

Fast forward to today, and I just pulled the trigger on an LED Nano Cube with some upgrades. We've decided that Christmas at our house this year is going to be something we all will really enjoy, which is a marine tank.

I've been taking things very, very slowly so far, and am excited to continue to learn about this fascinating hobby!

New to hobby

Hello everyone. I am new to the hobby & after much research have decided what type of aquarium I would like to establish; however, I am unfamiliar with the different resources available. Currently I am ready to purchase the main tank. I would prefere one that is rimless, salt water ready with the overflow built in & pre-drilled. I have googled and noted a few places, but would appreciate any recommendations as far as who to purchase it from. Thanks!

hi i'm scottie, i have recently taken over mom's 55gal tank, in which was a algae mess. i know i probably need to get better equipment than what is listed in my signature but this is what came with the tank and had been used on it for multiple years. so i ask upon giving ideas please you common terminology due to i am very very new to saltwater fish only tanks

New to reefing....

New to reefing....

After 10 years of wishing, and 1.5 years of research and building, I can finally say I'm a reefer newbie! I got my homemade (sorta) tank filled with water this weekend. I wish I would have found this site sooner as there is a lot more information here and easier to find then on the other sites I've been on.

Thanks for having me!

Hi

Hi

Hi everyone!
I am new to the hobby. I have been set up on rc for about a month or so. I've browsed the boards for about five years trying to learn what I can. Funny enough, I just noticed the introduce yourself on the new to the hobby thread.
I just started my 1st marine aquarium about 1.5 weeks ago. It's a 75 gallon with 20 gallon sump. I have a reef octopus nwb 110, an eheim compact 3000 for return, two hamilton aruba sun v2 t5 retro fit kits and an aqueon circulation pump rated for 750 gallons/hour. I'm working on getting a vortech mp40w es powerhead at the moment.
I plan to start my addiction with a soft coral tank and graduate from there.
I am in no hurry. I know mistakes are going to be made but from learning from the success and failures on the website I believe I am prepared to give my aquatic citizens the best care to not only to survive but thrive.
Thanks for everything so far and I hope to learn and share as much as I can.
I chose the name hammerfrog for obvious reasons. I love the frogspawn and hammer corals. One day, when I feel I have a real good grip on the parameters and health of my tank I will then add these beautiful corals to my tank as I see fit.
Thanks for reading
