If you could have any zoanthid...

If you could have any zoanthid on zoaID, say 10 polyps, which would it be? I think the Marijanes would be my choice.

Shouldn't be too long and everyone will have them. maybe the price will come down on them too.
But what zoanthid would you want if yo couldn't sell or trade it, something you would want a small colony of just for yourself, not having to share. Something you don't already have.

I would go with Nicely colored eagle eyes. Good combo of colors, proven coral to be propagated easily, good grower, readily available.

Out of all the zoanthids on zoaID and you choose Eagle Eyes? You are probably one of those types that is content with yourself and what life deals you. You happy go lucky, take life easy, enjoy the time given you pple make me sick.
Kidding. I have them and though they are very common they are one of the most colorful zoanthids in my tank.
Some of the polyps even have green centers.

I dont even think those pictures are Eagle eyes, More like Whamming Watermelons.

I'd love to have a nice colony of Dragon eyes, my favorite of all time!

I wonder what is up with that?
Has anyone a clue as to why some zoanthids melt? I wonder if it might have something to do with wild zoas vs tank raised? Most of mine are tank raised and do pretty well, but for example the Steel Blues, I tried about 3 times with different colonies of those and none survived and even the local reef shops lost all theirs.
But those are not the only other ones to melt on me.
Now, all the zoas I have gotten from Vivid have done super. They were well attached and obviously not recently fragged.
But that may not be the case once i think about it. I got some Lunars from someone that I know beyond a doubt were tank raised and melted on me just not long ago, well, didn't exactly melt, but did slowly shrink away to nothing.
OK, nevermind with that train of thought.

zoadude when you see your zoa slowly shrink take them out wash them good with fresh water , they will take couple weeks to come back but you can save them

Its gotta be a tie for me between Dragon Eyes and the Jokers.

I got some Dragon Eyes and they were doing great, over the past few days they seem to be struggling though. Some of the polyps have turned brown and are kinda wilting away. I moved the colony a couple days ago into a little more turbulent area and they seem to be making an improvement but still arent opening very much.

Random side note, I had 2 colonies spawn in my nano and the result isnt horribly vibrant, but having something that has spawned out of my tank is AWESOME! Its still just a tiny single polyp I hope it grows out. Will post some pics when I get home from work.
