If you could only have one fish in your sps tank...

Holanthias borbonius although they're super rare and i think it might be a colder water species. So i'll go with Hawaiian ventralis.

moorish idol!

I had one in my reef for almost 4 years and I lost the MI in a difficult move. I think a large SPS tank is perfect for them. They tend more to eat LPS and clams.

hey scott, i think i asked you about care for the moorish idol at the dfwmas forum. he's doing great. my favorite fish!

Vinh, that is awesome!!! Glad the MI is doing so well. I haven't been on the DFWMAS forum for awhile and I just noticed your message. I will go answer it now. My only real plans for future fish are to have a pair of MIs in a mostly SPS dominated reef.

Scott

I'm so jealous of you guys that have been able to get the MI to eat...I would love to hear how you got them too if someone could chime in please. I would start another tank just to be able to have one

ask you LFS to feed the MI and if he eats then buy him/her :D

I've never seen one in a LFS unless it was special ordered by someone....so if I wanted one I'd have to special order it.

How can you say that?

Orange with white stripes.

justin, if your lfs doesn't carry them, there's probably a good reason. its probably because the specimens they optain always die or are in terrible condition. if you really wanted to keep one, i would look into finding one from hawaii from an online vendor.

massive x10 tank, a massive imperator angelfish. large tank, achillies tang. smaller tank, some sort of fairy/flasher. really small tank, neon goby.

There may be better looking fish out there, but my hawaiian sailfin is just like having another dog. Great personality, always up front and active, model tank citizen, and just like my goofy sheperd..........always ready for a good meal.

I'd say a Mystery Wrasse that ate Aiptasia and Majanoes. Barring that, I'd want a Muelleri Copperband.
