I'm having big fun now...390 display +

Hi Mike nice setup!
I have a couple questions for you regarding your standand canopy
I am in the process of building a new 280 set up measurements are 90/30/24
1 Do you have a cut list or a diagram for the standard .
2 What size plywood did you use for under and on top of stand and is that foam on top of the plywood for the tank to sit on
3 If you had to do it all over again what modifications would you do to the stand
4 I see in your postings you are plan on modifying your lights set up. I am planning on making my lights to move up and down inside the canopy .

Thanks

I don't have a cutlist for the stand and canopy. I threw it away after the build. I used 5/8 inch plywood above and below the stand and 3/4 inch foam under the tank. If I had to do over again, I would make the stand 3 inches shorter. The mods to the light rack is minor. I am going to add more structure to take the bow out. Mine slide out and in, and the front lifts up and down. I have linear actuators to accomplish that. I also have four fans to mount on the light rack. They will be mounted below the bottom rail of the light rack.

Thanks, I like the solid milled acrylic rather than the flimsy cast one I have.

Over the past eight days, I've emptied the 46 QT and the 50 QT into the 390. Here are some pics.

looking real nice mike,i imagine the naso and vlamingi are loving the new home they have.BTW you should be getting your stuff from me tomorrow.check with Joe and he will have it :) again the tank looks great

Thanks Chris. I will be taking a couple of trips over the next two weeks. When I get back, I'm going to try to fill up the 50 QT with SPS by the first week in December. That will give me a little over a month to finish the light rack, add some fans, connect and program the Aqua Controller, finish the auto top off, and bring the reactors online.

have fun on your trips and when you are ready you know there are plenty of nice sps frags to be had around the area.should be real easy to fill up that QT tank.

That 50 I got from you has worked out great, and has several years of work yet to do!!!
Post a pic of your tank on here. I'd like to see the changes over the past year and a half.

No agression from either one. The Vlamingi follows the Naso around the tank. Both are still eating well and looking great.

Converted 50 QT from fish to coral. Removed biowheels and media bags from filter. I will add carbon after interceptor treatment. Added 2 MJ1200. The light is my first DIY reflector, an Aquaconnect 14K SE bulb, and an Ice Cap 250 MH ballast. Same skimmer. Also added an elevated eggcrate bottom.

I have 13 nice frags in the QT. They were dipped in Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, then Flat Worm Exit then ReVive and then placed in the 50 QT. Interceptor treatment will come when I have the 50 at capacity.
