Mflamb, how do u tell the difference between male and female on the Naso's??

The male will have long streamers and the female will not. It's difficult to know what sex you have when they are just juveniles.

Some updated pics. Thanks Jason.

Wow, looking real good. The light rack has come up a real treat. Are you happy with the wat it's turned out?, considering its in position now to see how effective it is.

Cheers

Chris

Nice aquascape, that looks like it'll be coral heaven!

Are your filter socks the ones with strings at the top, or are they the rigid rings? If they're the ones with strings, where did you get them?

Chris, The lights are exactly what I wanted. I have three 250 MH Aquaconnect 14K, and two 165 watt VHO actinic (off in the picture). The tank is much brighter than the picture. I'm sure they will be just what the corals need.

Dude, the socks have tie strings at the top. I got them from "benf". He had them made to size. PM him and ask where they came from.

Tank is looking great Mike, your fish are going to have great hiding places. did you make the bottom rock also - they look great!

I only made the bottom row of rocks in the 390. The rest are pieces that I picked up from 7 different local reefers. I dried all the rock and then soaked it in saltwater and Amquel in the dark for a couple months.

I'm going to take the light rack down, modify the structure a little bit to strengthen it, add some fans and the linear actuator. Then I'll connect the AC3 and set up everything except the calcium reactor. I'm still waiting on a CO2 regulator from John. Still lots to do after that, but I feel better every week, so it will get done!!!

Your fish room looks GREAT!

Thanks Mike - It seems to be taking forever but I want to make sure everything works the way I'd like it. Yeah, I guess that's a long span without support. Is that the problem with your light rack? I'm just about ready to start mine, I'm thinking of making it kind of like a bouble box. We'll see how solid it seems.

Now that's a good comparison - LOL. I think I know what you mean. PLC001 and I will be working on our light racks before to long. I'm going to have mine slide from the ceiling so all the support will need to be there. He looked at HomeDepot - 18$ for a 8 feet L but I can't remember the thickness. Does that sound about what you ended up paying?

You've got to be happy with everything now - water, fish and everything is running nicely. Very nice job Mike, it's really coming together.

Mike I am getting ready to get my lights up on my tank after 2mouths of pluming and setting up rockwork and adding of the sand.
Did you get around to modifying your light rack yet?

hey.. havent been on in forever.. tanks looking good.. i sure missed alot of you setting it up.. i guess ill have to get caught up

Hey on this picture all the way on the left, on the white adjustible plumbing what is the glass vile looking things attached to the pipe?

It's much easier to adjust the dual beckett skimmer with the air flow contols. When the air flow drops, I know it's time to clean the becketts. Cleaning takes about 10 minutes to remove, disassemble, clean and reinstall. I've cleaned them once since the tank was filled with salt water.
Here is a better pic. Our local acrylics guy has a bracket made for me. I haven't picked it up yet, so it's zip tied to the pvc.
