I'm having big fun now...390 display +

My CBB cleaned up my tank in about two days from the time I put it in. They are awesome. I just wish they weren't such picky eaters.

I'm concerned about that also. I feed flakes, pellets, and nori everyday, and on alternating days I feed mysis and Rods. I'm going to try blackworms next. I may end up feeding mysis everyday once the Copperband goes into the display.

Very nice well thought out system. Very clean as well. Do you have any plans to put skins on the stand and canopy? I love the idea of the overflow drain in the sump leading to a drain outside.

One question I have is regarding the foam. Is there any issues with maybe a fish or something scraping off pieces or chunks of the foam over time? I assume it's some type of Marine grade foam??

I do plan on putting wood on the stand and hood this year.:D The foam is "pond foam" used for making fake rocks and waterfalls in ponds. It floats, so occasionally, I find little bits in a filter sock.

The Copperband is now in the display and doing well, and the QT has new residents.

I am not sure if this was suggested as far as ATO: The safest automatic way to top off is by using a metered pump like a litermeter III or a similar device with float sensors (redundant if possible).

You set your topoff to just slightly greater than your daily evaporation rate (say 7 gallons for a 5 gallon a day evap). Doing this allows time to recognize any topoff sensor malfunction and minimizes impact because you can only add a set maximum amount. On my system It would take almost a week to have any significant impact if the ATO was on 24/7.

Alarm codes would notify me several days in advance if this was the case (high level sensors).

All of your recent changes can be used in this setup and were good suggestions. The only potential flaw in your system is the pump on your ATO.

Something to think about if you have not already.

Thanks Jacob. I haven't considered a metered pump, but I like the idea. It makes perfect sense. I'll study that.

i am so glad to see you QTing your fish.
Carl
I've QT'd every one of them so far. I lost some beautiful Lyretail Anthias due to stupidity. I put them in the 50 QT with my Vlamingi, and the Vlamingi wanted the place all to himself.

Mike, when did you get the naso? I was SO tempted to get one of the two they had a week ago.
It's been a couple of weeks, right after they moved the first row of fish to the new store.

i beleive that they were next to each other but he has been moving a lot of stuff around. but there were 2 left. lol.
