Glad to hear it Roy! Is your tank set up with 100% marco rock?
Yes, Sang. 100% Marcorock. I put some LR on the sump and also pieces in the main tank itself. The tank is in the garage, so the tank is cycling in the dark. I can e-mail you the pics. I am entering the fourth week of cycling now and I can see my nitrite is going down now.

Man, I am just starting to price live rock from the LFS, and damn! On my last tank, I bought 150lbs of Marshall Island rock from Jeffs Exotic fish and paid around $3.00/lb. Most stores are charging $5-$7/lb for inferior rock! I guess it might be time to mail order or go with the Marco rocks.

Well, the deed is done! My tank from Elos should be here next week! What a cool guy Jesse is. I just came back from his shop and had a great time.

Hey Kinetic, I decided to go with the 120xl, stand, and plumbing fixtures. I didn't get the sump or skimmer as I ordered an H&S skimmer. I still need to order my sump.

awesome! did jesse have one in stock or he's ordering?

The H&S won't fit in their sump? Must be huge ;)

Can't wait to get your progress updates! What are you going to do about flow? Any decisions on light yet?

The H&S won't fit. Besides, I really prefer a large sump as I will be running a refugium in it. The tank is coming air freight and should be here next week. I am actually thinking about the Planet Elos model in a black color w/2x250 hqi's and 4 t-5's. As far as wavemaking, I was originally going to go with a pair of Vortechs, but am now rethinking that. Jesse showed me their flow kit which includes 2x1260 Eheim pumps that are concealed next to the overflow chamber. It looks great and stealthy. Could you imagine how clean the tank would look with no powerheads of any type?:)

Wow.....the movement kit for that tank uses two Ehiem 1260's? Lol......I'm using one for my return pump. I'm guessing you should get pretty good flow with two of those inside the tank. What are the dimensions of the setup? Can't wait to see some pics.

Sounds awesome Sang!!! Can't wait to see your progress. I love the sleekness of the Elos system as well.
Thanks Rich. I always seem to buy 4ft tanks and figured out why that is. It's really due to economics and how I can get away with using 2 halides instead of 3. My electricity bill is about to literally double with the tank. Another halide would send it soaring. Sooo, when are you coming back to the hobby!!

The dimensions are roughly 48x32x20 or so. Yeah, the movement kit is a great idea. Can't decide if I want to go with that or a pair of vortechs.

Hey guys, need some advice on my sump. I really like a large sump so I was thinking about a 36x24x15 or so sized sump. Ideally, I want 3 chambers, the skimmer chamber, refugium, and return. I will probably add baffles as well. I may go with the company in San Jose. I know they don't do the best work, but it's a friggen sump!:) I have to cut costs somewhere. Any sump ideas?

I'd suggest SoCalCreations. Sure it's just a sump, but what if your sump was really badass =) I also suggest making your fuge into a "show" fuge for more fun. At night if you're on reverse photo period, you can open it up and see the fuge. My socal setup had a fuge that ran the length of the sump (~10 gallons). I was going to put an angler and make it into a really nice looking fuge.

But also, checkout how complex of a sump socal can build:

They also can attach probe holders that are really useful too.

Damn Kinetic! You went all out! How much was that sump?

oh haha nono it's not my sump =) it's just one that socal created that was really amazingly complex =)
