In Wall 400g DT (600g+ System)

Great update Juan of the fishstore...ummm fishroom. ;)

Looks like you will be better equipped to QT your fish and I love my Acclimate !

The angel looks good, it would have been nice to see it in a harem.

I'm liking the proposed vortech layout...hmm sounds like what I recommended to you. Ha..Ha. The reason I knew the layout is b/c they recommended it for my 450 display. ;)

LOL, true, you mentioned opt#2, now I need to get the other 2 MP40's to complete the up and down layout as you mentioned too.

Thanks for the other medicine recommendations, I will look into them today.

I'm beginning to quit on idea of removing the actual fish, one month, no spots and they are even getting much bigger, I tried the Acclimate trap without success, I think the fish must be laughing at me every time they see me come up with a new idea for catching them LOL.

Today I bought all the new fish that will go into the QT tanks,

This is the list of them,
6 Tiger Queen Anthias
1 Triggerfish Blue Throat
1 Dwarf Flame Angel
1 Starry Blenny
1 Red Stripe Dwarf Angel Fish

The anthias will go all into the 50 Gal QT Tank
The Triggerfish Blue throat will got into one 20 gal alone
The Dwarf Flame Angel and Starry Blenny will go into one 20 Gal together
The Red Stripe Dwarf Angel Fish will go into 20 gal QT alone

And here is a video of the Trigger Fish which came home with me today.

He was nervous at first, but after 40 min acclimation he was doing better, also I poured into all QT tanks Vitamin C from Kent marine so it can help spike immune system.

Any comments more than welcome :)

Thank you very much Shakar72, I'm really happy with the AI's, my energy bill lowered a lot since I place these, no heat transfer, easy setup and the ability to control them through my Neptune Apex is great.

Welcome aboard. :)

Here is a quick video of my QT's and fish in them.

Tanks in order in the video.
1. First tank, Tiger Queen Anthias
2. Two Barred Rabbitfish
3. Blue Throat Triggerfish
4. Flame Dwarf Angel and Starry Blenny
5. Red Stripe Dwarf Angel

Also, made some acrylic hoods for the small 4 tanks and installed lights over them too so fish can actually see food when given.

Sweet video Juan. Any concerns adding the angels w/the multi color ? I would add them at the same time to spread out the aggression. How often are you doing water changes and what/how many times are you feeding the fish ?

Jim, thank you very much :)

I'm doing weekly water changes, I was thinking of 10% but maybe I will increase them up to 30%, I'm running my salinity at 1.022 but lowering it at 1.018 and I'm feeding twice a day (Don't know if it's too much but want to get them fat).

I'm planning for 4 week QT and into the DT.

With the Multicolor, LFS showed me their tank which they have six different types of Dwarf Angels together, even the system is smaller than mine, do you think this can be a problem?

Thanks

What kind of filter are you using in your QT? Dont you get any ammonia if you do water changes once a week? Thanks

Bagz727, I'm using Hagen Elite filters with just sponges and carbon (As no medicine has been introduced to any QT's,).

In these small tanks, and with the intention of making fish fat and happy, the amount of feeding can be high (at least in my case) so problem can be a high level of Nitrates, also, if any trace of ammonia is present, the only way to lower these safely is doing water changes.

Great photos and graphics... I will be following your build :)

Thanks Endrju84, nice to have you on board :)

Well, sadly the Blue throat Triggerfish passed away in the QT, reason so far unknown.

Also, got an Ick outbreak within QT 1, 2, 4 and 5, it seems I have been using DT water to fill the food cup and with this feeding the fish in QT's, so based on this, I sold the Anthias in QT 5 (50 Gal) and will remove all fish from DT for treatment in this tank (QT 5).

Gonna use the draining method, just bought a 300g and have another 130g, once I lower the water, I can scoop out fish easily (Hopefully).

Hi Juan,

I think running hyposalinity is fine, it actually helps them not have to work as hard exchanging salt in their system.

I know it's hard, but I would do 6-8 weeks just to be sure.

I've seen multiple angels in small display at the LFS also, but you never know
When putting them in your display. It's always hit or miss.

I think doing a 10% daily or every other day would be better than a large 30% weekly water change...stability is the key. Especially if you are feeding twice a day. Believe it or not, I've heard Live Aquaria recommend multiple feedings especially for anthias.
