Input on GBT situated at back of tank

We picked up a GBT anemone about 10 days ago. I placed it in a nice rock crevice at the front of the tank, woke up the next morning and it had moved (expected)...but to a nice sunny location facing the BACK of the tank. Our Maroon clown is snug as a bug in the nem, which now means we no longer see the clown or the gbt since we put it in the tank.

We're running a brandy new Current usa orbit. 3 150watt halides and 8 t5 actinics on our 125 gallon.

LFS advised changing the flow, so we reaarranged our hydors, but it did nothing. Hes appears happy, healthy, and is not budging. And fyi, the rock cant be flipped. We'd have to rearrange the whole setup.

Our jlaquatics order showed up Friday past, so Sat we set up 4 new maxijets onto a wavemaker. Lots of flow now. We were advised direct flow, withhold food or light. So we set a maxi to direct some flow at the foot of the nem. THis morning was no change so I put a metal sheet on the glass top above the nem, shading it. By afternoon the nem was withdrawn, but it foot is still firmly attached deepwithin the rock. Any input as to what may be happening? Or advise on what to do in this situation?

Thanks

You could try moving the anem back to a different starting point, and hope for the best. He's going to move where he wants to, but maybe if you start him off near or on the bottom front part of your tank, he may only move a few inches and still be in view. I did this with my GBTA a few months ago.

As for removing him, just make a batch of RODI water ice cubes, and rub them on the foot of your anem. He will detach pretty quickly. Aside from being a little upset, he will be fine.

Hope this helps you out. Keep us posted, and if you can, post a pic so we can all enjoy.

Good Luck.

People have used directed flow toward the nem's to get them to move out of a certain area. I haven't used the ice cube method before. Was afraid to damage the tissue.

Ice cubes never worked for me. I just redirect flow or cover them with a rock or tile.

let it settle. its still pretty new. mine sat in the same spot in the back for over a month and a half. it finally moved under a rock in the back for like a week, then popped up in the front right where i like it lol. if it stays put then start messin with it using power heads n what not to get it moving
