Insect Hunting During Lunch

I head out to Centennial Park during lunch time to take a look around.

There are plenty of flowers and bugs everywhere (lucky I remembered my insect repellent). A few hours later, I got a few decent shots. The conditions were pretty bad due to strong wing that almost never stopped and I think I got a bit sunburnt. I will need to remember the sun screen next time!

All these shot were taken with the Canon EOS 10D + 180mm f3.5 macro + 580ex flash with the exception of #12, which was with the 24-70 f2.8.

Most of the shots were shot from a tripod and with flash to fill in the shadows.

BTW, my daughter's second grade class is going to do a unit on insects in a couple of months. Would you mind if I printed your shots as a teaching tool to help the little nippers out? Especially as I'm starting to think that we'll never see an insect again....
