insualting glass

does anyone have any experience with insulating glass for aquarium building in combination with normal glass.
I have seen couple of aquariums with one sheet of glass and a insulating glass next to it.
these aquariums were lower temperature aquariums (not tropical/reef)

I'd like some more info on the subject

Interesting concept "Insulated glass" Kind of like double pane glass we get with our house windows..... YOu may want to contact a custom tank builder to get their take on it..... or do a search on the Internet on "Cold Water Aquarium Tanks" or someting like that.....

That's a new one to me too. With the intense lighting used on reef aquariums it is heat more than cold that poses the problem. Getting rid of the heat can cost one much if one needs to install a chiller. Heating the tank is fairly easy and, on a big tank, only a couple of watts per gallon are needed.
