Introducing a maroon clown?

My sister in law is in the process of moving and I've taken in her 3 fish. 2 of them I introduced to the main tank with no problems but have been hesitant with the maroon clown. Currently he's hanging out in the refuge.

I kinda feel bad though about leaving the clown back there all by himself and was wondering if I'll have any compatibility problems with my osc. clown and other fish.

Display tank 75 gallons.

Osc. Clown
Yellow Tang
Pygmy Angel
Mandarin Goby
Blue Chromis
Damsel (her fish)
Bi-Color Pseudochromis (her fish)

Does anyone think that adding the maroon clown to the mix would be ill advised?

Thanks,
Jeff

I'd leave it in the fuge for now and probably not add it to the tank. Maroons are very aggressive and it'll definitely fight with your osc. clown

That what I thought as well. He seems to be doing ok back there in the fuge so I'll just let him hang out there.

Thanks,
Jeff

Every now and then, if the rockwork is well done with lots of caves and escape routes, maroons can be kept with other clowns.

I have seen it at a DT at a LFS here in LA. If the maroon is big and giant she is a female and will be meaner. If she is still smaller, I bet there is a better chance. If you do give it a try, introduce the clown with the lights off to eliminate aggression.

I bought this thing (basically clear plastic box with holes) that allowed me to put potential mates for my GSM into the tank for her to see but not hurt. She attacked the box for a while. Then we put the box on the sand in her favorite spot. She attacked it for a while. Then we let him out and she was a little iffy, but he did lots of submissive dances and in the end all was well.
