introducing another bta

My tank is a sea of green by the 72 gtbas (all clones from a single bta bought back in 2007). I would like to add an rbta to add some color. Any concerns or suggestions? I don't want to disrupt the existing anemones if possible.

I wouldn't be too worried about disrupting the other nems but with that many GBTA's is there space in your tank? I would love to see a pic if you ever get a chance.

A red or rainbow would be nice.I will probably pick one up and introduce it to the tank. Here's a tank shot of the bulk of the anemone garden. I guess if they are bunched up, they don't reach out as much as they used to with longer tentacles. There's about 30+ in the foreground with another 20+ in the back and another 10+ to the left of the pic. Please excuse the hair algae. I am currently winning the battle. It used to be a lot worse.

VERY beautiful. If you lived closer I would trade you one of my rainbows for a green.

I think that your tank is awesome. I have never seen an anemone only tank before.
Thank you for sharing.

if you dont mind me asking but what do you feed them and etc to get them to grow and split like that? mine seems to stay small all the time. Its not sick or anything just seems like its not growing or something.

In my opinion I don't see any problem with adding a different color variation. Other than the tank being super crowded, most BTAs can live side by side with no issues. They're the same species so they're not likely to fight each other like they would if another anemone species was added to the tank.

I didn't feed them for years except during the winter holidays where I would feed them a scallop. However, I used to feed it silversides every other day during the first yearafter I got it as a bday gift. Then it went from weekly to monthy to yearly feedings. I had them under metal halides for most of the time and recently switched to LEDs last month. They seem to be doing well under the new lights. I will try and get a recent full tank shot. The other side has around 10 btas and more spread out.

Wow that's awesome. I have 18 rainbows in my Reefer 250 and I can't wait to have as many as you do. I've been feeding them every other day for them to grow faster. I've been tempted to add a Sherman Rose but like you I'm a little worried about mixing them. Good luck

Wow, that's amazing tank.

I am debating getting a BTA but not quite sure how to deal with it.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I have about 9 different corals in my 34G tank, blasto, gornipora, gsp, frogspawn, brain coral etc

When I introduce my BTA, do I need to move existing coral to allow the BTA to find its spot?
