Good Morning Wine Country!

My name is Mak, I am a long time lurker of reefing forums but as of January I am the new owner of a Cadlights Artisan 50g Cube. My buddy Robbie recommended I join up with you all and to start a tank thread. Over the course of the week I will begin to transfer everything over. Even though I have been looking into this for over 10 years I still have lots of questions and willing to take any input that you all have.

I figured I best leave you with a iPhone pic of the current setup. Not much to see but the tank is cycling nicely and am ghost feeding frozen mysis shrip food every 1-2 days.

I would love to come. Robbie I think plans on bringing me at least he better be

I plan to house just a few fish: Pair of Clowns, a Fire Goby, Yellow Tang, after a year a mandarin, maybe one or two others
For Coral: I would like to house a variety with most of my collection being polyps with a few LPS, SPS, and mushrooms If I am lucky I would like a clam
The Clean Up Crew will be the usual along with 1 peppermint shrimp, 1 skunk shrimp, and a few different hermit crabs.

The build time will be a long process. I have no plans on rushing things after all it has taken me 5 years to get this far.

That would be a Kessil a360we.

A little more info on my setup. I am running a Kessil a360we and I absolutely love this light because of the shimmer you get from it is like no other. The one thing I don't like about them is the lack of moon lighting. So I diy a set of moon lights using a 80mm round blue led strip. I put it on a dimmer to prevent photosynthesis from going on. I think it turned out quite nice.

Ammonia has dropped to 0 and Nitrates are way High so I preformed by first water change of 9 gallons. I have decided to change directions with the sump and have ordered Miracle Mud, 3 mangroves, chaeto, and a started pod pack of 250+ pods. Currently looking for assorted micro algae to add as well but haven't found any right now.

I always have caulerpa prolifica too if you're interested. It's legal in ca and not invasive at all

How are you liking the 50 cube so far? I've (ok the GF) had one running for about a year now. I hate the skimmer that came with it, at some point that will be upgraded. Other than that it's been a good tank.

So far I like it. The skimmer seems to be a bit difficult to adjust but seems to be working. All of the pumps are a bit loud but have started working on bringing the volume down. There are no fish in the tank yet and can't wait to get my first one. I have 2 turbo snails and a hermit crab. There is technically a second hermit but he is so tiny you will never see him. He was a hitch hiker with my chaeto. I have also seeded the tank with 250 pods but might seed it with another 250 because I wanted to do ½ in the display and ½ in the refugium but I think most ended up in the display and I really need a huge population in the refugium.

Well I would like to introduce my two latests additions. Meet Fuego and Berta. Fuego stayed in hiding for a week before she finally came out. She is still hiding most of the time but is coming out more and more.
