Is anyone considering Pappone?

Ok I guess it's good to have a food processor dedicated for fish food w/ blender blades. Also I could probably get that **special** ingridient that is hard to come by in the U.S., but it is expensive...

Rawbomb was on here awhile back asking about where to buy the fresh seafood for this. I have not seen him post here in some time tho.

To get fresh seafood you probably will need a specialty store, have a hook up at a Sushi shop or know a distributor.
But the recipe I read calls for clams, mussels, oysters, and shrimp. Most major stores like Publix, Wal-mart...etc, have seafood sections and would have the shellfish live, and the shrimp I guess you could use live Bait shimp from a bait shop.
There's a place in North Miami called Captain (something) right on Wext Dixie....They were on the food network as having some of the freshest seafood available to the public for purchase.

I bought 20 little neck clams at Publix live...after 2 days in saltwater to purge themselves, I put them in the main tank. That was a few months ago....they are still alive!!!
I believe live shellfish a these stores should be a viable option, as a fresh source.

Yeah...isn't that fresh and not live? Or was it in both?
I would think the live stuff should have the phosphates...right?

We need to hear from Rawbomb to see if he is using it, I am using Zeo right now and this sounds close to it but raw. I am considering setting up a second tank just to try this.

Well i havent started with it yet because i have yet to fing a good amino acid. The one i got which was the seachem was actually making my corals retract. I am waiting for my order of Elos to come in to try out thier aminos.

Also from the thread i start on the forum ive mainly seen that most agree the main ingrediante is the sugar + the amino acid prior to feeding. Theres also a few people on there who have good results and dont necessarly use ultra fresh seafood.

As for the less legal parts of it, not even the italians agree that it makes any differances based on the fact that human GH wouldnt really have any effect on coral tissue which i would tend to agree with.

ALOT of the seafood from publix is previously frozen. they defrost it, then put in the display case. i dont how if this matters..but i just wanted to let you guys know..

Lulio I wonder how much we mess with nature when we try such things ans HGH and steroids, lol. We kind off talked about it when u were over but never got into the details. Many many methods have surfaced over the years. Of note is that all , the basis of this method relies on export of harmful substances through skimming
and I mean heavy skimming. SInce I dont have he time or patience to dedicate this is not an option for me.
By no means I consider myself an expert but over 15 years of reefkeeping I've seen many flavors of the month-with AA being the only constant and proven scientifically method.
;)

I am using the amino acid from Zeo in fact when I started with the Zeo basic 4 did not noticed a difference until I started adding the amino acid now my polyp extension is out of control, you do not have to be on Zeo it could be added to any tank at 1 drop per 25 gallons.
I am not interested in the growth hormone side but pappone as coral food and bacteria booster.

I agree with you Manny, a lot of people that are having problems with pappone is because they see it as a solution to their problems when in fact added to a system with problems it multiplies them. Without proper filtration and time for the system to slowly adjust Pappone translates to problems.

I wanna see your tank maybe this weekend I'll drive down and see your polyps-perhaps I'll give AA another try.;)
