is anyone using alk checkers?

They aren't that expensive, and I have been thinking about getting one, myself. We may even get a better price if we have enough people interested in doing a group buy.

I did not get an Alk checker as the Salifert Alk tester is the easiest of the test kits and faster. The color change is quick and very apparent, even to a semi-color blind person as myself. Also, I think I could test my Alk in under 60 seconds. While the checker takes about 4 mins for the complete test.

I have one and I do not like it as all I don't think it's accurate I will test with the salifert and get a 9.0 but the Hanna will give me a 7.7 to me that's way off I have even taken my water to a friend and have him test it with his salifert just in case I was doing it wrong but it was the same

wow i guess im gonna stick to my test kits being that i check my cal & alk together how i've been doing thanks guys

Maybe the reagent you're using is part of a bad batch?

Or didn't mix well, didn't wait long enough for it to dissolve, or didn't shake hard enough for it to completely dissolve. Same issue as the P04 meter.
