Is constant flow bad for monti caps?

I have an issue with my sugar sand blowing up all over my tank when my powerbeads are on intermittent or wave modes. I just cont a new large monti cap colony but the best place to put it happens to be where a powerhead is blowing onto my central rock structure. Its a pretty strong 3,500GPH stream from a powerhead only about 10 inches away. Is that kind of direct flow bad for the coral?
