is FISH BOWL a TOILET BOWL or a work in progress?

Well here's my take... If you get a fish or coral from there watch it for like a half hour to make sure its healthy. I bought a frogspawn coral from there that looked healthy enough but a lil stressed. I acclimated it like i have my other corals and it seemed to be doing better. (Extending its members form its base further than at the store...) But into the second or third day i noticed a lil strand of deterioration from its base then next day it receded completely, gave it a few more days to see if it would come back, but obviously died. When i first started an aquarium i chose chiclids as the fish i wanted. (About a year ago) I already had bought fish from petsmart who were doing fine in my aquarium. Bought a chiclid from there and lost my tank to ick. (Newbie to Fresh at the time prolly had to do with it killin my whole tank but yea). My take on the place is that its second rate compared to other LFS I've been to. Yes they are attempting to make improvements but I don't think I'll invest my money in livestock from there unless it just came in from the supplier. Prolly never get another coral from there.

No, as far as the dry goods go Joe I havent bought a thing there... I go to petsmart for fish food first. The only reason I go there is to browse their corals and fish, which have imporved quite a bit since the first time I went in there.

wow all this talk about the fishbowl made me think " hmmm i never been there i should check it out" which reminded of a radio talk show host that said he didn't care if things said about him were good or bad because it gets his name out there and people tune in to see for themselves. So where is the fishbowl at i want to check it out heck if i see something I like might have to purchase it also :O) ..... I am all for supporting LFS stores near where I live because if they do well you will see more items and better quality and if a small shop can afford to buy large quantities of supplies they get it for cheap which in return they have more reasonable prices.

Oh and if couldn't tell by the run ons, bad spelling or incorrect punctuation this is David not liz :) ok liz showed me how to spell check so scratch the bad spelling :D

yeah ...i see this thread is getting alot of attention...

dont you wish WE could all go in there ...meet with the owner and get good ideas put into practice there??

everyone would benfit from it...we would frequent them more often...and they would keep livestock healthier...

Hey ronert here's a tissue so you can cry in the corner. Everyone is so worried about being PC these days you can say anything. If the fish store sucks then say it sucks. If you don't like reading bad comments then don't read them. If you don't like a TV show what do you do, sit and watch it until its over, no you turn it off. Anyway were is the fish bowl, I'd like to drive down and see what they have. I'M NOT A DRC MEMEBER these are my comments and are not the comments of DRC. (disclaimer).

rotleybutii: its in dover...about in the middle on 13?
just south of home depot...in the same shopping area as DURON paints...

SnEaKyPoLoCk, I hate to defend this store a little bit, but if you had shopped at the store I worked at and told me a coral was doing fine in the store you brought it home and it opened up then went down hill... and then you mentioned you have been in the hobby for two months. If I were you I wouldn't say that you would never be buying a coral again there. It is not like there is a secret method that any LFS has to allow a coral to die after three days so you are forced to buy another.

If you want to wait a while before buying another coral from there that is fine and I don't blame you, but I wouldn't announce it to the world. We have all lost animals in the past and that is just part of the hobby.

I've never been to the Fish Bowl... How many lanes do they have? Do they rent left handed shoes? I'm left handed and need special bowling shoes.
