Is it time to review the RC policy on buying and selling?

Someone has to realize what this kid is doing. I mean come on. He came on here a week ago and said he was new to the forums and wanted to know how shipping works. Does he really think we are all that stupid?? It's really unfortunate that stuff like this happens. I thought we were all friends. :D

What are you taking about??

I think that was the other thread. :D

Seriously tho, even mods have to abide by the rules. I had to tear down all five of my tanks and I couldn't sell/trade any of it here, because I have wholesale connections.

Just like in my place of business, I don't agree with all the "rules", however, we need to lead by example.

The problem is that too many mods are immature kids on power trips.

 Or maybe too many members think they should be an exception to the rules. Most follow the rules, it's just the ones that don't are so loud, it seems like more.

My grandkid is an adult. ;)

Just realized. Maybe I should be thanking you for the compliment.

I thanked him with 10 infraction points, that are going to expire when we visit Mars.

I consider it my service to make sure he doesn't have to deal with power tripping moderators anymore.

That was funny!!

I was thinking, the selling rules here are no different then going to a local frag swap. You don't see people there selling bikes, computers, etc. Although, I can't blame Todd for selling his camera with the LD box. They do go hand in hand.

**Sorry about previous post. It was meant for another thread**

I know this isnt a suggestion box but would it be possible to put a restriction on the amount of f/s ads people can have in a given time period. Think of i this way most of us myself included hate seeing ten post per day by the same person for different things. why not say one selling post per week if you have additional items just ad them to that post that way we dont log onto the urs page and see f/s f/s f/s f/s all by the same person.

+1

That would just make more work for us. It certainly would be hard to enforce.

One thread and add on to their sale might be a good thing. Start a new one each month maybe. I know the clubs could make suggestions like that. I forget which club it is but they have one long 'yard sale' thread.

I'd like to see everyone just sell in the selling forums myself. :D I know there'd be more replies if people put their location in the title.

I'm kinda new to RC and I just want to understand the rules before I get in trouble. Expressing an opinion about moderators or RC incurs infraction points? And are these infractions points some type of ban?

I"m just thrilled to death a site like this even exists. I have learned so much from this site. Anything open to the "masses" is going to have some issues. As long as the attitude doesn't kick in I think we are good to go.

Moderators are volunteers and are not always all things to all people but they certainly don't warrant being called "immature kids on power trips". Sad comment that says more about the person making it than the target. RC focuses on real information exchange in a quasi collegial envirornment. If personal attacks and other nonsense rings you're bell ,there are plenty of other sites where you can find it.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence you're posting on the same computer?

There is a difference between expressing an opinion and derisive name calling.
