Hi, I had keep this acro for about 1 month to 2 now. It has amazing neon green color, really pop up in my tank.
But I was wondering is that normal for the white spots on the base of my coral? I cant really tell its been like that ever since I bought it but maybe It spread a little bit. I cant tell too.
Im using six T5 bulbs, so lights cant be too strong....

Yeah, it looks fine. Where were you thinking was the problem? I think a lot of acros bleach from the base out anyway.

I agree that the tips look like growth but what are those spots on the base where the color isnt as green as the rest of the coral. That would concern me a little.

Could be a few problems my first thought was nipping from a fish my second is pest. Dip it and see what happens and if nothing then sit back and watch your fish. Do you have and centropyge Angels?

I agree with the others. Tips are fine, base looks like its being picked at or has a pest. Dip it and watch the fish.

How are your calcium numbers? Could be low calcium so it is bleaching from the base.

Sorry, did not see that part of the first post.

i dont think the problem is that serious as yet, Im thinking it might be new growth on the base as well as the tips. I dont have any fish that will nip the acro but only an emerald crab sitting at that part, but just once.
Im still trying to observe if its spreading or not.

Check your nitrate also. If it is nipping problem, then it would not shrinking the polyp extension in the middle of your acro. Because i assume you glue your acro to the rock right?

my nitrate was near 0 from API test kit the last time I checked, 4days ago. I didnt glue it yet to my rock or anything
