Kinda hard to tell but there is something slimy coming out of it, and it looks like it shed a couple of its tentacles, or a couple little parts, its an LTA.

Almost looks slimy over most of it.

water is good, I have a RBTA and a tube anemone too. I got this one yesterday, and it opened up nice yesterday.

Well, it definitely isn't healthy. What are you water parameters? It should have dug into the sand already. I would make sure the water quality is perfect, water changes go a long way in that direction. And, I'd keep a close eye on it. When an anemone dies it can foul the water rather quickly.

Was it's tentacles bright/light blue? Looks like it might be a dyed LTA, which means it's been abused. If yes, than it will be a long difficult recovery. If it has the strength to recover at all. Sorry, just getting the worst case scenario out there early.

IMO, it isn't dyed. Just unhealthy/bleached.

What exactly does "good" mean for water quality? Some numbers would be helpful.

calcium is ~400ppm
Mag is about ~1250ppm
Alk is ~2.6

Only thing thats out from norm is slight phosphates, but thats cause of tap water. Just installed the RODI this evening.

I don't think its dyed, it came from a store that I trust a lot. I do know it wasn't really happy in their store as I have seen it for a couple months but it would move weekly. But it still opened and looked good.

Should I put its foot in the sand for it maybe?
It doesn't look covered in slime so much now, but hasn't opened or moved at all.

What is your salinity/SG?

What lights do you have? Are you acclimating it to your lights?

Honestly, if it didn't look happy in the store, I would have never purchased it, and moving weekly is not a good sign.

Dig a hole for the foot.

What is the specific gravity and the nitrates? Both of those are important for an already fragile/sick anemone like your LTA is.

I buried him a bit, and he still looks bad, and 20 minutes after I took that he got out of the sand and fell over.
What is he spitting out?

4 T5's, it came from MH.

I was told it was healthy just didn't like tank.

Alkalinity 2.6 meq/L meaning 7.28 dkh?

Umm sure? my test isn't in dkh.

I'm concerned that your anemone is starting to meltdown. A very unhealthy anemone can partially dissolve in a period of hours. I would keep a very close eye on it and if it does appear to be melting/dissolving, get it out immediately as it can cause an ammonia spike in your tank, not to mention potentially release toxins into the water.

You still havent commented on your ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate, those are the MOST important parameters.

I would even go further and say that it has already started.

I don't want to be a messenger of bad news, but it might not matter at this point how good the parameters are. Your parameters are fine for the most part, though your nitrates are on the high side. My guess is that it wasn't your system that made this anemone unhealthy, it was most likely that way at the lfs. Between collection and handling along the way, these animals endure alot. Now, it's my guess, the most perfect water conditions in the world would not resurrect that anemone.

Well last night I decided that it was too far gone to keep in my tank anymore.

I think you are right about it not being healthy enough from the store. I will talk with them tonight and hope to get it sorted out.

Unfortunately all too common for stores to sell unhealthy anemones. Sorry things went the way they did.

Sometimes it just happens, at least it was cheap (compared to the RBTA). And the store is making up for it too. So its all good, but still sucks, never seen one that color before. Wish I got a picture when it was open.
