Heyyyy...wait a second. :mad2: :uzi:

What are you trying to say about accountants?
I think he is trying to say that he is not retarded, he is just an accountant :D

HEY!!! thats a very mean thing to change it to accountants.. what mod changed the title? I think this mod needs moderated, I am not happy.

BTW ... something alittle more PC, if you wanted to change the title ... oh I dont know ... maybe "is my friend CONFUSED, or are we?" This is not brain surgery!

I find it disturbing that, in your mind, it's perfectly acceptable to make fun of disabled people but if someone takes a light-hearted jab at someone's profession you are offended.

I can guess what was in there before but didn't actually see it, but no I don't find it acceptable.

However, I wasn't offended. Apologies, I should have followed it up with one of these:p Atleast I am not an actuary;)

Agreed. There are people who are out there who have mentally disabled family members (I am former one- she passed away at the age of 7) and do not take to these things lightly. And honestly for someone to be so offended about a mod making the joke more appropriate. I think that someone hasn't got the best judgment......

And BTW: I did learn one thing from this thread ;) Who the host is in the symbiotic relationship between the clown and anemone.

I'm not sure two wrongs make a right. If you found it offensive, why would you then choose to offend another group of people? You could have just changed it to "is my friend wrong". Your point still would have been made.

Seriously, we should be nicer to each other...except for actuaries...

what's the definition of an outgoing accountant?

he looks at your shoes when he talks.

my cpa DOES LOVE me keeping my tank in my office...can you say 'office expense'???

He likes picking on accountants because he always dreamed of being one. We wouldn't let him in the club.

It was a joke. Someone would have to work to be offended

Perhaps but it'd wouldn't have been as funny.

Don't be so high and mighty. I saw you looking the other way when those boys dipped the girl's pigtails in the ink well.

I have been told over and over again that the anenomes host the clowns and I believed it until I upgraded my tank. I had a pari of wild caught australian true perculas and a carpet anenome. They would not swim anywhere near the anenome. My LFS got a pair of Allardi's in, so I traded the percs in, and within a day of them being in the main display they were in the nem.

Based on my observations, I feel hosting is a poor word choice for this relationship. I feel that they more or less pair up, unless my carpet anenome was partial to my allardi over my percs. Seeing as they do not have a brain, I am going to say not.

'seeing as they do not have a brain'

were you referring to nems or accountants?

I'M JUST KIDDING...besides, i love my accountant. he keeps the best two sets of books i've ever seen...

MORE KIDDING

mostly

i host a foreign exchange student: they come to my house to live for a while.

so, new happy topic: is it pronounced zoo (long o sound) or zoa (zo-uh)?

this should be much easier to decide...

From RK Magazine,

Myth 2: Aquarists commonly keep zooanthids.

There is a group of genera that are very popular with aquarists that includes Zoanthus, Palythoa, and others. This group belongs to the Family Zoanthidae of Order Zoanthidea. As you will note, there is but a single "o" following the "z" in all the taxonomic names. Stony corals maintain symbioses with dinoflagellates called zooxanthellae. There is a stony coral genus called Zoopilus. Small animals in the water column are called zooplankton. In these examples, two "o's" follow the "z." Unfortunately, popular aquarium books and magazines have allowed writers to send the "Zoo-anthids" word out to the masses. By logic, then, zoanthids are not referred to in the vernacular by the terms "zoo's" as short for zoanthids.

Potential: harmless.
Distribution: widespread primarily among aquarists in the United States.
