I know this hobby doesn't think much of the show Tanked. I've read some threads about the horrible condition some of the tanks are in just a few months after they are installed. 200 damsels in a phone booth tank is not a good idea...I get it.
But I still watch it; my kids love it and it's entertaining. (Although there are no worse actors than those guys - the scripted moments are so brutal). Anyway, it seems like they might be trying harder to be a little more responsible. The recent episodes I have seen seem to have fewer fish and more regular shaped tanks. They seems to be going more nuts on tank exteriors (facades, etc.) than making crazy shapes that would not be conducive to keeping fish long term.
Their new shtick is going through the customer's home (usually celebrities now) and hearing all these crazy ideas - make my floor a fish tank, make a fishtank basketball backboard, etc. - and then Wade/Brett explain why that would be a bad idea and hurt the fish. In sum, they aren't making skateboard ramp tanks anymore....
I've noticed that recently they have made some BIG tanks and there are definitely less fish in there. Just my observation. Next week they'll probably put 15 triggers in a bowling ball that someone will actually try to use.
p.s. - I'd still love to know how much these tanks cost. Probably as much as a small house.....
