I have come to the conclusion that I have a problem/addiction. I cannot stop buying corals. I love them all and they all love me LOL. I have come to this conclusion after buying a colony of Todds Torch (10 plus heads) It's awsome.
Anyway I am looking for a support group that can possibly help. I have my wife believing that these corals only cost a couple of dollars, god help me if she ever goes to a store.

I can help you on a special ten step plan to cure the addiction.

Step 1: Give me your favorite coral.
Step 2: Give me your second favorite coral.
Step 3: I think you can see where this is going. . .

eh, i can't help with your problem but I"ll buy a head of your todds' torch - it will help you recover from the expenditures.

You have the same problem that 95% of the people out there have. A spouse that does not have a clue. Stock pile some cash that she doesn't know about. When you buy something, use half cash and half credit card. She only sees the credit card expenditure and thinks "not bad". When she sees something new in the tank you simply say what they have been telling us for years "Oh that. Thats not new. Ive had that for a long time". This should work for a little while.
PS: There aren't any support groups. Just addicts. SORRY.

Are we joking here, or do you all really mislead (let's say) your others?
Certainly they must have things they spend money on as well?

Liz we are kidding, just thaught I would start something. I tend to get carried away with this coral thing. I really can't help myself, and obviously there are others out there with the same problem

haha, my wife is the same way adam! she once said "instead of getting 10 little corals and waiting for them to grow, i want you to get 5 big colonies."

Nice to read these last few posts. I was beginning to feel guilty - when I get home from a bad day at work, hubby says "well.... should we go to the fish store?"
:) :)

It will. Get A little better after you run out of room, then after two frag racks in the display it gets a lot better :)

Happy to have a wife that I can be honest with about what gets spent on corals :)

My wife could care less about my tank if I put some thing in when shes not around she has no idea. She looks at it from time to time and has fished out a dead fish or two but for the most part its just my son's an my obsession that happens to look pretty.I talk about it so much she ignores half of what i say (so i can tell her cost most likely so won't be listening anyway). We will drive over a hundred miles just to vist a good "LFS" and she waits in the car then i'll take her to a nice dinner (chef's in buffalo has a couple of saltwater tanks).I can't "hide" expensive equipment so i'm still working with my lights that are just ok(i'm mostly still working with non-photo coral right now and it is cheaper) and i'm still tryin to work in that "big" tank.I do feel guilty some times but mostly because I have to force her to buy stuff she wants(either buy it myself and give it to her or tell her to buy it the whole time we walk around the store until she gives in).
