Is there any hope for my sebae

Hello everyone,

To make the story short I am a newbie and in charge of maintenance tasks for my wife's 28g nano cube. The tank is pretty new (7 weeks) and already has a lot of life in it. It started with zoas, then xenias, then a petite buble and an open brain. So far so good until my wife brought in a sebae. I tumbled for a week and I did my best to provide a confortable place for her (we call her mrs. rottenmayer). But it has not settled yet. I don't have all the test solutions I would like but what I can measure seams to be right (SG 1.024; PH 8,2; amonia, nitrites and nitrates are undetectable). The tank has a CFL quad with 2 10k white and 2 7,1K Actinic. After a week tumbling to the tank (therefore unable to feed it) it started to shrink and settled in (has no being able to stick herself yet). Here are some pictures taken today, the question is: ¿Is there any hope for my sebae?

I know, but is already here

I know, but is already here

So I am trying to keep it alive in order to return it or keep it... I am looking for advice to do this I am beyond the point of I told you so...

Judging by the picture, it is bleached, and possibly dyed yellow. So it is in really bad shape, and your tank isn't helping. The only thing you can do is do big water changes weekly to keep it clean. But even in a healthy, big, mature tank it is unhealthy and may not survive. Also, if it does settled down, I would suggest continue trying to feed it.

A seven week old, twenty eight gallon tank??? If you want to give this anemone a chance, contact you local aquarium club, and donate it to someone with a system that can support it.

Actually it looks reasonably happy in the photos - you said it's attached now? So yes, it definitely has a chance. You shouldn't have let it tumble for a week before asking for help though..

So you seem to have a choice: go and buy the extra test kits and materials that you'll need to test and maintain healthy water quality (this takes a lot of work) and find some experienced reefers who can help when you run into trouble.... Or take the anemone back to the store.

The anemone in his tank should be dead. It was likely enough bleached or dyed to begin with, and then spent a week rolling around loose in a tank that's barely (if at all?) finished cycling. Instead, yes it's small and pale, but it's attached to the substrate and puffing up as well as can be expected.

At this point the nem has weathered (hopefully) the worst that will be thrown at it, and if the OP is willing to change their impulsive ways and commit the SIGNIFICANT amount of effort it'll take to keep his tank on track, there's some hope for it.
