Is this a Majano or BTA?

Im pretty positive thats a BTA.
The apparent spotting on the column would eliminate E. quadricolor, Bubble Tip Anemones.
I believe it also eliminates majano.
What is the source of the specimen?

Strangely, I have seen (rarely) BTA's with that marbling in the tentacles. At the LFS they were called "Vietnamese Bulb-Tentacle Anemones" though we know that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I would try to feed it and see if you can get it to grow. I have seen BTA's smaller than a dime after I had an adult go through an Ampmaster 3000 and several of the pieces turned into mini anemones.
Do the BTA's at your LFS have the distinctive spotting pattern on the column as well?
Unfortunately I didn't notice the column, as they were all open, and short of me sticking my hand in the tank
, I couldn't really see the column. But the tentacles looked just like the second picture. And they weren't big BTA's either, maybe 3" diameter. Other than the spotting, they weren't very interesting to me...kind of a darker, army green...but they weren't under very nice lighting either.

Yea, thats almost exactly what i have! Mine was slightly smaller at first and nearly pure white. Over a few months it turned pale cream, now very light green, also with speckles. Mine seems to be growing (slowly) and has nipple tips much of the time, just like in that pic.
The ones that my friend has, that we know for sure dont get bigger than 1.5" are like normal BTAs, small but nice deep green, no speckling.
I am trying to feed mine to get it to grow but it seems to be pretty slow growing. Its grown from 1.2cm to 4cm in like 6months (no feeding in the beginning, only fed recently ~monh or so) but it was bleached and now at least i know it has zooxanthellae.

I feed my btas shrimp. Both hikari mysis, PE mysis, and regular table shrimp cut into small pieces. it is important to to try and stuff too much food into the mouth, it can hurt the anemone so pieces must be the right small size. That is why the hikari and pe are easy. you will see a response hours after feeding. If you are feeding mysis you can feed daily. A great way to get them to grow.
