is this aptasia or some kind of yellow polyps?? i had these things for like a yea+ just growin on that rock....

My guess would be hydroids of some type.

I would second that, tough to get rid of but hydrochloride acid dissolves them off the rock and they won't come back. The ones I didn't dissolve the flame angel has been keeping mowed down, which surprised me.

IN case you needed confirmation, yes, they are hydroids.

Most liverock is fairly "soft," so I've found the most effective way of dealing with hydroid patches like this is to take a flat bladed screw driver and dig into the rock beneath the base of the hydroids. The rock attachment (with hydroids) usually comes off pretty easily and can then be discarded.

I tried kalking them, plucking them with tweezers and scrubbing them off with a steel brush, but those methods weren't any help. Good luck!

Yup. A small patch of them can look nice and interesting, but like Aiptasia (and Mojanos), the problem is they don't stay "a small patch" and can actually end up overrunnig your entire tank. And once they get to epidemic proportions, they're really hard to get back under control. So, for most folks, it's nuke 'em when you find 'em.

found this little guy on a piece of rock a LFS gave me for Coraline introduction and I noticed him after a few weeks of this being in my tank. Looks like an anemone of some kind

While I am not an expert on anemone identification, I can tell you that is not aiptasia if that's what you're asking. Neat discovery.
