i just set up a frag tank that 48x24x12 and my laminate floor seems to be a little off balance....the water level front to back is 1/4" different(higher on the back).....im not concerned with looks because its hard to notice, but is it safe or doomed to fail..
I'm not an expect by any stretch of imagination but from what I've read any off-levelness causes stresses on the tank glass and may eventually result in breakage.
I dont see how it would hurt anything as long as the bottom of the tank is evenly supported. E.G. no gaps between tank and stand causing the un-eveness.

I just started to setup my 75 as well. I plan to shim it tomorrow before I finish filling it up and adding sand/rock. My tank has about an 1/8th of an inch front to back and a little back side to side. I think its from the carpet.
shim it, it may not give you any problems, but then again, it may. do you wanna risk it? shims cost like 2 bucks for a ton of them. For 2 dollars, you MAY have a lot of clean up and water dmg. My floor is really bad and i had to shim half an inch before on a 48 inch tank. Thats scary!
As mentioned above, the off level-ness, although its small, puts extra pressure on the panes that the water is tilted towards. The glass may eventually give out. Fix it.
