Is this too much for my tank

I have a 4x2x2. No DSB. I keep a mixture of sps,lps and some softies.

I will get the 7094 but cant decide whether to go 2 x 6000 or 2 x 6100.

if i go the 6100 i can run one at a time and alternate or I can turn them down from full power.

There seems to be a big difference in wattage ie 6000=15w, 6100=45w. is then when they are running at their maximum or is this all the time regardless of speed setting.

please help. can't decide which to go for.

2 6000's is all you need. The 6100's would allow you to do laundry in your tank or mix margaritas. Probably a bit much for fish though.

Yes, the power required to increase the pump output goes up exponentially. The rated power is at full speed and does go down with speed. IIRC- 6000 is 7-15W and 6100 is 18-45W.

No, for that size the 6100. 3-5ft 6000, 6-8ft 6100 unless low flow animals are being kept.
