I'm intrigued. Trying to create the effect of having part of the tank an underwater cave, perhaps? :)

I would think it would be difficult to have some parts of the aquarium receive no light at all.

LOL. ok. I am not giving out anymore info.

Actually, there shouldnt be any issues with areas that do not have any light. it all depends on what animals you want to care for.

tanya, I thought people were getting tired of the pics.

Never!

Pics, pics, pics!! This is it for now until I start arranging rocks. I have more rocks sitting in the rubbermaids. Water has to clear first. I dont want to add more rocks and didnt see imperfections at the base. Rocks arent at their final place. Dont pay attention to the skimmer. Im still waiting for plumbing from usplastics so I can run it to the garage.

Right now I have 180 lbs. I dont plan to add much more. Only for the extra stuff I plan to do. Remember, it will be an open aquascape.

Looking good Edward, maybe a nice tall Reef Ceramic rock in front of the skimmer to kind of help camoflauge it ;) .

Chad, are you bragging about your BK 300int again LOL  . Oh BTW, i think my skimmer injection chamber is 300mm :mixed: . Let not poison Edward with your Reef Ceramic idea Chad. Let keep all the algea in one tank :)

Very nice Edward. I also love the (Japanese) rimless tanks! A rimless tank in this size, awesome.

I will follow this for sure!

Leonardo

You guys are funny!!

Leonardo, thank you very much.

Well I woke up this morning and the water is clear. Looks like I need to make some minor adjustments to the rocks and it also looks like i need to order about 50 more lbs. The view from the top is spectacular.

Wait until you see it at night when the LED moonlights are reflecting off the water (I recommend white LEDs BTW). The top down at night is almost as neat as the top down during the day.

Edward, I love the open look. I took out over 35lbs of rock in my little 70g cube to get a much more open aquascape look. I love it...I keep filling up the open space on the bottom with more corals though :D. I figure I have about 50-65lbs of rock in there now, most of it barely touching the bottom. I cannot wait to see your secret design .

BTW, I will never get bored of your pictures...reef geek that I am :D.

Coral and clams are more colorful viewed from top down. Fish though look best from the side. Yes no picture of yours can bore us, even a closeup shot of your microbubbles:)

Ocean Drive, that was my plan. :) I need to buy some corals first. ;)

GSM, yes, but its not complete yet. I need to order some more rock to complete the setup. As for the fish, I also have another idea.

taco, I cant wait. I can imagine it now :)

alicia, I know what you mean. Its so hard to stop adding corals.

jac, microbubbles? none yet. :) whew!

Ok, I saw invincibles new aquascape. It's alright... it's not yaba daba doo. The only thing that's pretty interesting was the fact that the ER skimmer was still part of the aquascape. he he he

Seriously, his tank looks freaking awesome. 40" depth is unreal.
