It`s All Their Fault!

Nice set up. Good luck!

Thanks for the kind words. This tank has definately been a learning experience with keeping sps. I know that I am really not ready for them yet.

:beachbum:

I noticed a rock on top this morning that had a mushroom facing the back wall, turned the rock around and found this growing :)

Wanted to get a low light shot of the clam to show how it has colored back up after the move. Not the best shot but kinda decent for me LOL.

I picked up a used leaking 135gl tank Friday for free. The previous owner had tried to seal it and the silicone is over an inch thick in some spots. Here`s a couple pix of it.

the leak,

should be a fun project. The wife has been wanting a FW tank for some time, and this would make a nice Discus tank I think.

:beachbum:

I have the same yellow encrusting sponge all over my tank. Its very hardy and looks very nice. Tends to grow in indirect light though, so its mainly on the undersides of rocks in my tank. Adds a nice bit of color!

I can`t tell you how surprised I was when I turned that rock over. It does indeed add a nice bit of color. With my nitrates having been so high I just never thought that a sponge would survive. I have another that is sort of a dark baby blue color growing on a different rock that I can see all the time. It has gotten smaller lately with the nitrate problem but it is hanging in there. I may try to get a shot of it later, too many things going on at once right now.

The wife decided that I could set the 135 up as my reef, as long as I let her have the 72 bowfront for her freshwater LOL......Now what am I supposed to do?!?!?!?!?!?!

Btw gkarshens mind if I use your stand design for the 135. Have you had any problems with yours?

:beachbum:

I too am using that design for my next stand. Looks like a great sturdy setup. Despite the "hook em horns" statement. :)

Don't mind at all, even though you guys are lousy Sooners!
LOL Easy now this is a family rated site :D

BOOMER!!!!

:beachbum:

Oddly enough. The term Boomer stems from the Land Run In oklahoma in 1889. Boomer translates roughly into Transient. Sooners were those who snuck onto the land early and staked a claim in order to gain an unfair advantage.

SOONER!!!

Bunch of cheaters!
That`s called Sooner Magic ;)

If either of you have questions about the stand feel free to ask in my thread and I will try to answer them.

thx for the link.
I was going to post a short update but this is more fun :D

Congrats to the Texas team, well played and way to go Vince!

*p.s* My wifes cousin is Jason Glynn.

:beachbum:

Thanks - one of my co-workers is a huge Sooner fan. When I asked her what "boomer" meant she said,"thats what we're gonna do to the Longhorns..."

I said, "Huh. I thought in order to 'do' anything you needed a verb...."

The conversation was over pretty soon after that....

ravenmore LOL

Nitrates tested <50 but >25 using Saliferts this morning. My lfs got his shipment in so I picked up a kit yesterday.

So the nitrates are still high but coming down, I haven`t been able to get ahold of a hole saw yet for the RDSB bucket so that is yet to come still.

My Anemone is looking better also, much fuller and spread out more, decided it didn`t like it`s old spot so it has moved alittle farther away from the return outlet. Seems happier now :D

:beachbum:

Ah, my young Padawah, Anemones draw their strength from the force and will use their "Pods" to move to a location away from the Darkside. Do not, expect to hold them in place, with your Jedi mind tricks. Of this, be mindful. :D
