It`s All Their Fault!

I took a couple of the flow @ the top of the tank.
How`s it look?

This is how I did the bow part of the canopy.
I cut the bow pieces posted above, then the uprights, squared everything and clamped, drilled the holes for the dowel, glued in and cut the dowel flush. Moved the clamps directly over the uprights and set aside to dry.
I usually wait overnight then lightly sand and trial fit.
If all fits well then I will place the skin over it and trim out.
Here are a few shots of it done and drying.

You can see the bow in this shot. It could be used for a rocking chair I suppose :D

Very nice so far.

The question you had about the surface... my final answer is "wet". :D
Thx. It definitely is that! :D

And my response is - like the bad guys on the batman TV show...
So, you are saying it reminds you of the penguin`s lair from the movie? ;)

On a less comedic note; The framework for the bow fits nicely, so I am proceeding with the skin. Pic`s to follow.

Forgot to mention that I picked up a frag pack from Lazyreefer tonight.
8 pack of frags for $60. Dude definitely fixed me up right :D

Managed to get one side of the front glued tonight, ran out of clamps and had to borrow a couple from the neighbor ;)

Should be able to finish the other side tomorrow afternoon sometime.
Here are a few pic`s.

Pocillipora. He gave me 3 of these frags.

A nice purple rim monti cap. I came home with 2 bags of this :D
1 was about 4 inchs long. I mishandled it and it broke :( But it`s still nice.

A really bright neon green candy-cane.

And my 1st piece of montipora digitata. Really nice purple tips, but I can`t seem to get a decent shot of it.

Finally the June COMAS meeting door prize that I won! :)

Thanks Mr. Prez.

I bought a couple of 80mm fans to install in the canopy for a total of 3.
I plan to put 1 one of the 80mm fans in each end, with the 4 inch fan in the middle of the back. The top will remain open. One decision that I am wondering about is, should I have all 3 fans blowing in over the top of the water or, would it be better to have just the big fan in back blowing in, and the two smaller end fans blowing out?

The powder blue remains in qt, however looking at it today I do not see any ich, hopefully it will remain that way and I can add it to the display tank in about 4 weeks. :)

Have all your fans blow in to the canopy. The heat will find its way out.

Now keep in mind if you have fans in the back and the heat is pouring out the back, you'll actually set up a hot-air-loop in my experience. I had my fans in the top of my canopy blowing in cool air from the room, and the heat went out the back. It worked great.

Since I am planning on leaving the top open, unless the wife starts mentioning how bright the ceiling is :D, The back is mostly open as well except for the crossbrace. I was thinking that if I had all fans blowing in cool room air that the hot air would rise out the top.
Am I thinking right here or just dreaming ;)

The acropora that I added is really looking good. I took a few shots of it, this one turned out the best.
You can see that it is starting to purple up on the tip, and is really greening up around the middle.

Of course my photo skills are less than desirable :D
