the fructose is used like carbon source for the bacteria

Thanks OD. It seems to me like there is a handful of people (some dont post) ready to try this out in the U.S. Thanks ReefItalia for continuous support!

5 mussels
5 clams
5 oysters
5 shrimp
I'm not suprised to see this seafood mix, I've had great results with shellfish as well.
[not that I'd like my tank posted here and compared, though :D]

Best of all, dinner on the day I make/freeze reeftank food is quite good at my home ... seafood feast for fish, coral, and people.

The BC Method is not food only. The coral increase is due also to added of amino acids and the other trace elements. Much light with halide, great skimmer, calcium and magnesium to levels of saturation. Always remember! The way, switch off lights are important also, skimmer without cup at the moment of the feeding etc...

Mark,

This method is using Amino's and this blend...interesting. I remember another discussion you were chiming in on in which you said a good food mix can replace Amino's(in a nutshell) Maybe this secret is to add amino's AND the food mix...Just a thought. I am already dosing aminos with frozen food, maybe I'll make up some seafood mix this weekend.

What shellfish in particular did you use?

ciao!

Clam, oyster, mussels [and shrimp] like mentioned above.

Fresh from the seafood store [live in some cases], generally avoid frozen/preserved to avoid any additives - but some frozen can be good.

I'm not here to debate aminos, so will leave that for another thread. IME, though, I didn't find any significant difference when adding aminos to the above mix [others might feel there's a big difference].
Nor did I add any bacterial agent [like fructose].

My point is, even without aminos and other stuff, it's good food.

You memory moreover that it is possible to use also the normal sugar from kitchen, saccarosio.
Between fructose and the saccarosio, I prefer the second, in how much this contains is the fructose that the glucose (is a disaccaride). The glucose is just the used sugar more from the microorganisms, even if however the other types of sugar succeed in metabolizzare all....
hello!
Man this is the best tread ever ..........here is the translation that sir posted. I guess suger is another key issue. But all that sea food mixed up has to be good for the corals. But to add HGH to it and feed it to the tank must have some affect on the corlas to feed feed feed :) Is there a break in feeding the tank? or do they feed seven days a week?
Michael

Spero di aver capito la domanda... :D

(PO4, NO3)
ciao

Extra tips I've been reading..

The reason for the dose of Amino's before feeding the cubes is to stimulate the polyps (extend) of the coral. Then feed without skimmer on.

blureff has tried HGH with ZEOvit. If anyone is interested in this combination, just ask him.

When adding the HGH stir after your "pappone" is ready. Then you can add into freezer.

Other persons dosing:
350ml of water ro
7 oysters
7 gamberi
5 cozze
5 vongole
35 gc of protovit
1 sugar teaspoon
from 1 to 4 vials of hGH (today I have put 4 for before the time, of it I have always used one).
When all shaken for 10 minutes, put in freezer.

? I dont see it.
Check the voting here and wait for Decembers Reefkeeping magazine to come out around December 5th.

Todd,

gamberi = scampi (shrimp/lobster)
cozze = mussels
vongole = clams

Others have also used the Eric Borneman recipe with this.

hum....i don't like this ED!!!
io preferisco mettere :
5 oysters
5 gamberi
5 cozze
5 vongole
250 ml di RO
1 sugar
e se capita hgh...ma NON protovit....non mi piace.
eventualmente le vitamine si possono aggiungere settimanalmente in acqua, ma preferisco non metterle nel pappone.

Thanks Kona. I guess we better get ready for the questions! ;)
