It's finally got water in it.

So, after several months of putzing around, my stand it finally finished, my tank is in place, the plumbing is done and the pump is running. It has been pumping for a couple of hours without any leaks so far--which is impressive to me since it is my first time working with PVC. But all has been going well so far.

Sorry if the pictures are pitifully small. I think because i'm such a newbie my filesize is limited--or else i just don't know how to do that right yet.

Apparently, I don't know how to post pictures correctly. I'm guessing I need to upload pics somewhere else to get them to show up in a thread. If anybody wants to share some wisdom on how to do this picture thing right I'll gladly take the education.

Next step: electrical. I have to drill some holes for fans and wires. But it's slowly coming along. And it's nice to finally have water in this thing.

By the way, it's a 180 AGA with a 40 breeder sump, a Blue Line pressure rated pump, ASM G4X skimmer, and the other little tank inside the stand is just an auto topoff resevoir. I'm going to build a Nilsen reactor to connect it to.

Look'in good. The PVC job looks really nice, especially for a first timer. I take it by the lack of bubbles in the skimmer that this is a FW test.

Thanks guys.

Yes, it's just fresh water to make sure there aren't any leaks. I don't have anything alive to put in it yet. So no need for salt yet.

Rob mentioned doing a group livestock order sometime soon. So I figured that might be a good way to get some live rock to start things off.

Looking very good!
I think I will be putting together a livestock group order early next year, lat Jan early Feb.
You can get Marco rock which is dry and hitchhicker free and great pieces. Or through the livestock vendor they have Fiji rock that is about $3 a lbs with shipping.
Keep us posted and I will too.

I hope the sump will be fine. Since i have it set up at work, i have to limit most of my equipment to what will fit inside the stand. The 40 breeder goes in there pretty nicely. It's big enough to hold all the water when the pump is turned off. The fuge section isn't huge, but hopefully it will be enough to grow some chaeto and pods.

that came out very clean. Maybe you could even put another 40 breeder or a 30 tall in next to it and plumb them together and have a lare fuge? That would be great for pods.
