I have a 58 gallon Oceanic Reef Ready tank, and under it I have a 29 gallon sump w/ a skimmer and a few bio balls. I take the water down from the first floor to the basement to go through a chiller and pump it back to the tank. I want to take the water to a 55 gallon tank that is about 25 feet away from where the chiller is now. I'm thinking that the 55 should be large enough for skimmer, refugium etc. I still want to keep the chiller in the loop, but move it closer to the 55. The pump that I have is an external Iwaki, but I also have a Mak 4 that I'm not using that has a lot bigger capacity. I'm just worried about the flows, etc. I've looked at Melev's sump plans, and frankly, I'm not a good enough plumber to be sure that my situation fits with his plans. I guess my question is whether I can mess this up too much.
