I've been spoiled by Your Reef Aquarium

Stopped in at Your Reef in Roseville on the way back from Tahoe today. I was looking for a standard 1" frag of a green slimer and a orange or red monti cap. Wow, what a drastic difference between that place an anything Sonoma or Marin county has to offer. Not only in price but overall quality and inventory. Picked up four sps frags for $30... If we had a LFS half as stocked with those kinds of prices, I would be in big trouble. I'll post pics in a bit once the slimer isn't sliming anymore.

I have a few apps pending in that area. Makes me hope even more that I end up working and living in the area.

Yeah I don't particularly follow how much certain things cost but I definitely feel like I got a great deal regardless of what it is.

O Street aquarium in sac is really nice too. I also bought some stuff at exotic aquarium in sac. They had an orange(ish) frogspawn that I took home.

Also on the 80 corridor check out sea splendor in Fairfield. It's pretty much behind the mall. Smaller, but great stuff and great employees.

Exotic used to be the best in town, but I haven't been there for years so can't speak of it lately. There's also an amazing store down by sac city college in a mainly Asian strip mall. I don't even think there's a sign in English out front, but it was amazing. O st is a great store as well. Super clean

I really like Your Reef. I am putting together a trip to the train museum in Sac just so i can stop by there on the way home

Looks a lot like a Cali Tort, if so you got more than your money's worth on that frag alone.

It has bright green polyps. I dont think the Cali torts do but I could be wrong. Maybe I'll throw out a id post in the sps section later.

Cali tort if I remember correctly has blue polyps. Plus I think John wouldn't make a mistake of putting a cali tort frag in the $15 lower frag area :) Great grab either way. Man if your frag happy with youreef, you would love Neptune's! Anyways, nice pick ups.

Really neptunes is that much better? Man I need to make it down there.

All is well with the tort or whatever it is. I would rather have the contrast of green polyp. Since I'm not looking to make money on it, the name and prestige of a rare piece doesn't do much for me.
