I've got WAY TOO MANY crabs...

I have a 6 month old 40g Fusion tank with TBS live rock. The rock is gorgeous, but came with dozens of what appears like grey porcelain crabs. They have not bothered any corals, but I'm wondering if I should get them out. I would estimate that I have over 50 crabs ranging from small to larger than a quarter. They are uninterested in the fish or food, and seem to filter feed. Any suggestions? Should I be concerned?

need a picture but from my experience in the past I would be somewhat concerned. Everyone I ever had come in on rock was not a good one. Why I stopped getting live rock and just started my last tank with dry rock. if its not 2 much rock I would just pull it out and freshwater dip it, the crabs should come out.

I think they make a cream or have a pill for that problem..
In the future I might suggest keeping personal issues to yourself..
Certainly no need for picture as other users have requested.. Sick.. just sick..

I'll try to take a pic, but am not savvy with camera skills on my tank. They look just like the porcelain crabs on the TBS website. Grey body with reddish speckles, large claws that they don't really seem to use, hairless, constantly waving fans to filter feed. My issue is that there's so many of them. My wife describes them as "œroaches" as they scatter when approaching the tank.

If they truly are Porcelain crabs, you should talk to your LFS about trading for some store credit. Most of them anyway, sounds like it will be hard to get them all. I'm no crab expert, but if they are Porcelains, they should be harmless, as far as I've read.

Porcelains are cool. Gorillas, those hairy SOBs, are not. I learned that lesson firsthand when my new rock started making some of my soft corals disappear, then one day I saw that big furry sumgun chewing on a Gobstopper...
