ive always wanted sea horses, but have never had the right tank. but now i do my dad geve me a 20-30g hex (tru-vu) and i have a fluval 103 and a small powerhead, i put in some live rock, like 10 lbs from my reef that were ugly, i plan on getting the coral life 18" 32w light and grow micro alge, will this work? will that be enough light for micro alge, and a good set up for sea horses?
thanks
dan

It sounds like a good start.. the 32w over that drop will be fine for growing macroalgae (Caulerpa, Ulva, Udotea, Halimeda, Gracilaria, etc.) that will also be much appreciated by the SH. The powerhead may need to be ratcheted down, you'll have to experiment once the horses arrive. The macro will enjoy the nutrient-rich environment typically provided in SH tanks. Have you decided species yet? Erectus seem to be the favorite starter horse.

I think SeaHorses are my new favorite marine critter (at least for now). And I have an Octopus!

They're so peaceful, they don't bug anyone or anything, they spend their time slowly moving around the tank looking for their next meal :)

Make sure you feed them this:
