Richard,
We need more pictures!
Such rich deep acro colors.
I'll take more this evening. Thanks.
Rich: Absolutely amazing. Whenever I think about getting out of the hobby your tank inspires me to stay in. Great job.
Thanks Ernie. I tried getting out before but that only lasted for 6 months, and when I tried keeping i small with a nano I ended up taking that to the extreme. Seems that this is a life long hobby so I don't thin you'll be leaving for any amount of time
. I think the changes you're making to your reef will refresh your interest again.
Really nice! That Pearlberry...wow, adjectives fall short when describing that intense coloration.
That pic is from the top down and just about 100% accurate to what I see in person. It really is an amazing acro. I'm surprised how fast it has been growing lately.
Tank is looking amazing Rich! What is your current feeding routine? How many frozen cubes are you feeding per day?
Thanks Marty. How's the new system coming along? I haven't been feeding mysis lately, only LRS reef frenzy herbivore, pellets, and flakes. I'm feeding once per day with a 2"x2" piece of this frozen sheet, and usually another feeding with a variety of new era, spectrum, cobalt, and OSi flakes.
I will post pics and a video later. I thinned out a few corals, especially stuff on the sandbed to reduce clutter a little. It's a work in progress
I am running into a problem that is a good thing and a bad thing
. The SPS are getting larger and starting to shadow each other and touch. Touching is an easy fix, but the shadowing is becoming an issue. I am seeing color loss on certain shaded corals, and even a little tissue loss of extreme shaded areas (corals don't die though).
The T5's in the Giesemann fixture are dim in comparison to an ATI fixture. Ati's have better reflectors, but I'm first going to try changing to a higher output ballast to see what difference that makes. If that doesn't help with the shading I may end up making a floating canopy and retrofitting in a larger halide reflector and more t5's along with the reefbrites. I would love to put 12 or 14 t5's over this tank, but at this point I don't think I can live without the Radium. The colors are the best I ever had. As for LED"¦. No
