As you all know, I have been planing a new tank and a bona fide fish room. After looking a all my options, I or should I say, we have decided to stay with a 6' tank. The tank will be 72x31x30H. The fish room will be approximately
7'6"Dx26'L.
I am dedicating this build to my wife Jackie who is always got my back and supports me no matter how crazy it sounds. :love1:

Lets start the Demo shall we

This is the existing opening in the wall. It will need to be re-cut.

Dave, Good question:reading: I am planing a sps dominant tank. I hope I can pull it off.:)

That is a pump for the sink. There is no floor drain in that part of the house. It is used mostly durning water changes and cleaning.

Thanks everybody. I will be using this board as much as possible. Any and all suggestions, comments and opinions are appreciated.

I know it will be Awesome, It has to be if it's named after Jackie !!! Dave thank's again for the RBTA it is now 3 times the size!!!

Completed the wall across the back.:hammer: I roughed in a 36" door opening. The door wont go in untill the tank is in.
I am not a carpenter but they turned out pretty good if I do say so my self. Had a couple of slow days at work which gave me some time to work on "my room". Also the nail gun did most of the work.

My biggest consern is moisture and heat. Like Capncapo said, "don't wait untill it is a problem". So the room will be equipped with and mini split a/c and a HRV (heat recovery ventilator). I am blessed to be able to tackle just about anything mechanical.

I am hoping to do a drop ceiling but I am limited on space above the tank due to duct work. The would give me a 7' ceiling.

I am getting ready to skin this wall with plywood, is there any good reason other than sound, to insulate the wall from the other room?
