Jacqueline's Reef 290 Build

I can't remember what is good for sps, but I think it might be a little low. Lps and softies should be fine though. Like I said, I could be wrong

These numbers aren't bad. I would shoot for numbers around 250 or so in the sandbed but u should be fine. Sps can still grow with any par over 120. Personally I think about 325-375 is the sweet spot for my acros.

I like to have a wide spectrum of intensity in my tank. You'll find SPS that will grow under as low as 100 PAR but in order to achieve the best color sometimes you need 500+

I think you'll be ok, as the corals grow upward you likely see faster and faster growth and shifts in color from the increased PAR of the shallower water.

Also, I think the low 100's at the sand bed is about the perfect range for many of the color finicky LPS like chalices and acans. If you give them much more light than that you often zap nice colors right out of them.

Thanks Guys. That was what I am curious about. I am going to slowly be converting over to leds this summer and I need to know what par I am trying to achieve. These reading gives me a starting point. I have 2-400w on the outsides and 1-250w in the center. I am going to remove the 250w and replace it with 2 Apollo dimmables. Thanks again:beer:
