Januray WCR club meeting

Tom,
PM sent to you. Yup... lurking like normal. I am tentative, depending on the workday of Friday. Longer drive for me and the traffic!
Mike

Beat the traffic, and then decompressed at the pokers table in front of the 210 gal reef tank with a nice glass of wine ... lol enticing isn't it?

I will not be attending. My oldest will be home for 2 days starting tomorrow before flying back down south for her next semester of college. Her sisters and I are looking forward to some all too rare and precious all together time. I'm planning beef Wellington for dinner that night.

Hi guys. I *might* be able to stop by. I'm taking the kids to Tahoe on Saturday, so it will really depend on how that all shakes out.

It seems like most of you are into SPS. Is this the case? I'm more of a softie, LPS guy, and certainly not a high-end collector. Not that I don't enjoy the colors of high-end corals, they are just expensive :p

I have a large and small colony of superman mushrooms. My initial thought is that these would not be a good addition to the club frag tank because (a) people would not be interested in them and (b) they spread like crazy. If I am wrong, let me know, and I'll coordinate a time to make a donation.

GiantBen, Most of us are mixed reefers so we have softies, lps and sps. I have some nice tyree green toad stools available, ricordia, and green sinularia. Come by and hang out, you will have a good time.

Ken, family time is important, there's always the next one.

It will really depend on what time I get back from Tahoe.

So, are the mushrooms something that would be wanted for the frag tank, or not so much?

whoa, whoa, whoa,
We are meeting at Tom's and Ken is serving Beef Wellington?
Let's move the meeting to where the Beef is!
You can play cards anytime....

Thank you Tom for hosting the meeting. We had a good turnout with lots of food and drink, we raised some money for the club with the raffle and had fun with the poker tourney. It was nice seeing so many of you show up and support the club.

I second the Thanks. Tom thanks for opening up your home to our meeting again. I always enjoy seeing your tanks. Good to see everyone.

Not sure if anyone needs it but I have the handout for the two part mixing directions that we got long ago. I could scan it and email it out if anyone is interested. If you haven't done it yet it is easy and will save you money.

See you next time.

Tom,

Thanks for hosting. Good meeting and good time. Who won the Miami Huricane?

Craig...The Randy's two part alk/Ca recipe is stickied on the Reef Chemistry forum. Anyone who wants it and if you're buying B-Ionic you want it.

Thank you everyone for coming to the meeting and those who have tried but couldn't make it. It was a good crowd and a lot of fun. We generated some funds and corals donation for the club's frag tank. We will try to mix up different day of the week, and different locations so everyone has a chance to come to the meetings.

The pokers game was a good idea, sugested by one of our member. The table had 9 players. And the first place winner is .... GRANT :D . Great job cleanig us out there Grant ... lol. I hung in there till the end and outlasted Jake for second place. Jake had the chips lead the whole game ...but :)

Thanks Tom, It was a fun meeting and I will be donating frags of the chalice back to the club in the future.
