Japanese tanks...(revived)

The company I was going to buy these from in February went out of business as of yesterday. However they gave me another contact so that I could get the bulbs.

If anyone is intrested, I can have them in a week. The cost is as follows..

Min. order is 18 bulbs or 3 of each color. Total will be $156.48

So if anyone wants to try these out, let me know. It breaks down to around 8.50 a bulb. Also anyone that wants to go in on this, I will ship them to you free of charge. You just pay part of the total cost.

Absolutc, Are these bulbs low voltage or normal output. What kind of fixture will you use.The reason I ask,is that M16 bulbs are available here. They are sold at H.D. etc, with track light fixtures.Anthony

They are available in normal and low voltages. I will buy the track from HD and use it. Very cheap setup compared to what the japaneese use.

Ya, that one. I don't think they could get it any fuller. BTY, my computer just shows little squares, guess it can't show Japanese:rolleyes:

Absolute,
Be sure to take some pictures once you have the MR-16 running, so what kind of light is it, from the look of it it seems to be halogen light If I use 8x 50 watts to light a 72gal bowfront, would that be enought. Can you provide me with more detail on the bulbs and if Japenese use them solely to lite their reefs instead of metal halids. They might be the light bulbs for developing those awesome coloration of sps which we all strive to achieve.

I have a couple leads and I can also get the bulbs - no problems there. I just want to see what else is available along those lines. More than likely, if the japaneese can get them, we can to. Just noone knows exactly what they are yet.

If I know the japaneese like I think I do, the colors you see (some of the tanks) - the super vibrant ones, are nothing but lights and filters.

Then again, I have a whole nother theory that I am working on. Might be totally wrong, but I won't know till I find out :)
