Jawfish & noise

In Bob Fenner's web article on jawfish, he says "be wary of utilizing air-driven lifts with these fishes as they do not appreciate the bubbling, gurgling sounds they produce." I'm considering adding jawfish to a tank with a reverse Carlson surge device installed. It generates a fair amount of noise for a couple of seconds each time it fires. I think it's similar to surf noise, but a fish might think differently.

Any opinion? And thanks for the great article!

i wouldn't concern myself with it. i've seen jawfish do wonderfully in inland aquatic's ATS systems that also employ a surge.
