Jay's 45 cube

After several weeks of setbacks, I'm finally back in the game.

Lots of straightening up to do, but here it is filled and running. I'll be using an mp40w plus the return for flow, and still waiting on my Reefbreeders LED fixture to come. I'm also in micro-bubble hell at the moment while the skimmer breaks in.

Lastly, idiot move of the day: I forgot to glue one joint on the return and sprayed a good 2-3 gallons in my face/on the floor.

I'll probably have mostly LPS with some colorful zoas and a few Acros

Unsure on fish and inverts yet, but there will at least be a blood cleaner shrimp and shrimp/goby pair

Looks real nice. Where did you get the cube from?i'm thinking about a 45 or 60 g build. How much did it cost short of the light?

I got it from ABC Reefs Two is Syracuse. Tank and stand were in the neighborhood of $450. Most of the equipment I bought used or had laying around.

Updated pic. I have my LEDs and vortech running so the equipment set is complete. Saw polyps on the heliopora frag for the first time yesterday which was nice.

Currents contents include an Ocellaris clownfish, emerald crab, two peppermint shrimp, and snails/hermits.

Future plans for a purple firefish, pistol shrimp/goby pair, blood red cleaner shrimp, and a red velvet fairy wrasse as my centerpiece

Looks great so far! How are you liking the LEDs? We're still acclimating Kevin's tank to the RB value unit but so far so good.

I have the same fixture. So far, so good. I prefer the look of halides a little, but the other benefits more than make up for it. Coral growth might decide if I stick with it or move back to MH.

Nice job, those 45 cubes are great. Big enough to use real equipment. Small enough to be manageable. The whole build seems well thought out and appropriate.
