What is the orange tree thing? I've never seen such a thing.

I will be transfer LR, some softies, water and a few fish to the new tank with new live sand. I don't think there will be much of a cycle if any at all. Is that OK to assume? I plan on trying some SPS and a clam. I think this tank will do well.

I haven't had much feed back on the drawings for the stand. Its basic and these are AIO so there isn't much that could be wrong or right.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I wanted to drill my Nano for my sump so last night I did it and its pretty sweet! I ordered a 1'' diamond bit for my half inch bulk head from harbor freight for five bucks and I also got a another set of diamond bits for three all together $14.97 shipped and the bit worked really well. If anyone wants the part # its 32400. I'll post pictures next week because my camera is in Puerto Rico on vacation right now.

Who has the quad CF light version? Thoughts?

I ordered my 28g CF from DFS about a month ago and am just now getting around to setting it up. I got water in it monday night and put about 2/3 of the rock in last night. I am really happy with how the 'scape turned out so far. I will try and post pictures soon!

As far as the CF light goes, it seems bright enough for a CF but I wish they had staggered the Blu/Daylight sections of the bulb instead of blue in the back and daylight in the front.

Pictures of my partial aquascape (more rock will be added soon):

Second project I am working on simutaneously (drilled with a Glass-Holes overflow)-

I always wondered how it was to drill glass DIY style. It must be easy nice to hear. I'll be waiting to see the pics.

Well, I filled the NanoCube with water today so I can get my live rock this weekend... I hear a popping sound and see the black back wall coming loose.
:sad1:

Does anyone of you know whether this is faulty production or a result of waterpressure or resonance of the pumps?

Not a good beginning though but my LFS is getting a new tank. Hopefully I can start at the beginning of next year.

Regards,

Marcel

Never heard of that one. Although, I'm sure a LITTLE flexing is totally normally when you fill it, especially if you filled the display (20+ gallons) before the back chambers. Ideally, you'd fill both the display and the chambers at the same time to avoid the weight of the water pushing on the back wall.

I'd just keep an eye on it - you should be fine

Just wanted to post pics of my new 28g CF. It has been running for about two weeks with LR and chaeto and I just put the corals in last night.

I am very happy with the tank overall. The only mods I have made so far are I replaced the stock pumps with MJ900's, put chaeto in the bottom two sections of the basket and added a Phosban reactor.

Very nice setup Axia. How long has your tank been going all told now? Also, is that white thing on the glass wall of your tank a magnet cleaner (guessing)? On another note, thanks for all your feedback on my post. Getting tank tomorrow and quite excited to start the cycle process =).

It has been running with LR for about two weeks (the sand and rock where taken from another established tank, so don't try this at home, haha).

yes the white thing is my magnet cleaner I forgot to take out for the pictures :mad2:
