JBJ 28 Gallon Nano Owners Club

Rezaktp, here you go. This is the dual Azoo. Got it online at fosters and smith, less than thirty bucks. Doesn't fit all the way over the plastic trim but enough to keep it in place. You can swivel it up but I find it is easier to just remove it when doing maintenance on tank. Isn't too much of an eyesore from the front of the tank.

Need some lighting help!

I have had my JBJ28 with CF lighting for about 3 months now. Yesterday morning the CF light did not come on. It worked fine the day before. I don't think the bulb is loose either. I called Foster's and Smith and their tech guy told me that it was most likely NOT the ballast because the fans were turning on but not the light. They were overnighting me a new bulb. Does that sound right about the ballast?

:celeb1: possibly doing a dyi fuge out of a free seaclone i got with my new 90 g...ill update with pics.
dig the aquascape man, you got a pump running into the cave section? I did a DYI fuge out of a AC70, good thread on how to if you need the link (or I could sell you mine for a fraction of the cost if you're interested .... I went back to the mediabasket fuge)

Curious, why did you go back to the mediabasket fuge?

When I tried the CPR fuge on this tank that is where I placed the Tunze but the evaporation and noise from the fuge was just too much.

i have saphire skimmer in fuge chamber have chateo in chambers 2 and 4 now but what something with less flow...

no pump in cave...moded stock return pipes with drill to spray down on both sides works like a champ..no dead spots...i can take pics if anyone is interested...

Just got a jbj hqi. Filled with saltwater and sand, waiting on base rock, media basket and other goodies to arrive.

is anyone using the reefkeeper with sl1 or sl2 as an ATO or is everyone mostly just using jbj ato or other brands?

d9sccr, check out page 20. A user drilled his tank and is using a sump.

Thanks..I was kinda hoping to avoid that..I've never drilled before and would be scared to death to do it..lol

am very surprised how loose the cup fits in though...

slvrsurfridr: Thank you, i may be a stalker of yours because i find that i print most of your posts and i am going to use them when i get back home. I have 3 months left in this hellhole and i cant wait to get back to my tank. The first thing i will do is change out the stock fans and remove the feed lid. I also want to drill the tank and have a seperadte fuge. I have the HQI and i think that a seperate body of water would help keep the temperature down. Plans to change out the ballast and add CF Actinics are also in the works.

Question: has anyone thought of mounting an 80mm computer fan directly to the lid of the tank? it would be an eyesore but it would pull the heat up and away from the tank? Feedback?

There was a guy that was a regular on this thread for quite some time out of the UK that has a great lid fan mod. His handle is 'sahin' - you'll have to search back through the last 10 pages or so if this thread to see if you can find his input on it
