What do you think of the Arctica chiller, besides power consumption. Is it reliable, not playing up all the time?

I ask because im doing a little bit of research on the products available to me, and would rather hear from someone using one, not the sales pitch.

Arctica is the most popular chiller in Singapore (possibly the region). I started with a 1/5 model for my decom'd home tank... Arctica is very quiet (1/3 being the most quiet) and the service support here is very good. They will call me every 6 months... the chiller comes with 2 year service warranty.

However, for larger setups... there is a growing trend here using air-con compressor (brands like Mitsubishi, Panasonic and LG) with either copper or titanium coils. I might consider upgrading to a compressor-type chiller if my tank is to expand further

You wont go far wrong with an ac unit. In my curent house I have a kelvinator, popular and cheap in Australia. Great for cooling, a little to effecient sometimes at cooling. But you wont go wrong with mitsubishi or panasonic. I havent seen the lg in action so I wont comment.

Thanks for the info on the chiller though, I still might incorporate one in the future.

By the way, hows the new po4 reactor working out for you?

Yeah I am considering upgrading my chiller as I might wanna add a full-scale refugium (cum Sexy shrimp haven) into the system... current chiller doesn't allow that

You mean my LONG and THICK FR? :lol: Working as planned... plenty of room on top for the media to truly dance Right now running 500g of media... will increase it to 1000g by mid next week
