Jebao DCP return pump?

I was just doing some research into the new DCP8000 pump and I noticed that it draws 65W, the same as the 3rd generation DCS9000 pump which is rated for about 260gph more flow at the same power ... if that's all correct then I guess the extra quiet sine wave system isn't as efficient yet.

I have the DC 9000 on my system and the pump is working fine.
Though I had to remove the back cover as it was rattling.
Another issue I had was that the power supply burned out - though a replacement was easily found at Amazon.
 
I have found the Jebao pumps are really good with high head heights. Mine is over 6 feet of head mostly straight up and still getting a lot of flow out of it.
 
I think the DCP is the quietest pump I have owned. This weekend I gave my lifereef skimmer a vinegar bath in a 30g tank while running the pump at 100%. The pump sounded like a Cobalt MJ1200. I had a hard time hearing if it was on. I'm one of those OCD guys when it comes to noises and I'm loving the pump so far....
 
My DCP is still running great, quiet, and no issues. It's hard for me to see how well it's performing when it comes to GPH/head pressure since it's on my skimmer. This pump is on my new build that has a much smaller bioload. So it's hard to compare it to the DCT-6000 that I had running on the skimmer. The only complaint I have is the intake does not have a intake screen to keep the critters out. This isn't an issue for my setup but could be for others.

Don't believe so...these are nice, but i'll probably hold out for the COR pumps.

The apex support on my waveline dc-6000 was bugged. Sometimes pump wouldn't restart when apex was plugged in. Actually sometimes it won't restart if water is still back-siphoning either. Not sure if it was the same problem or not...I should do some more testing. In either case, would be curious to know if these pumps have any of those issues restarting after power loss.
 
I haven't had that issue yet on my waveline dc12000 for my skimmer. It gets shutdown 4 times a day during automatic feedings.
 
I was looking at these DCP pumps for my for a 75Gal with a 20Gal sump build, need some advice, should I go with the 6500 or the 8000? The tank will be plumbed with two 3/4" return lines, since I don't know exactly the head loss has leaning towards the 8000. Also there will be no manifold since I will be running a full syphon overflow.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I have 75 with 35 gallon sump and I use an older DCT 4000 which runs a max of 1056GPH with 0 Headloss and I have it on Setting 6 and have plenty of flow.

I would think the DCP 6500 would be ok since it has Adjustable Flow Between 848GPH to 1717GPH and honestly that seems like over kill to me. I do about 5-7 X turnover from tank to sump and you really don't need 10X.

I don't own the DCP, but I noticed it says " New Digital Controller- Speed Control Settings Between 30-100" So maybe 30% is the lowest you can run?

Just wanted to give my input. I have the 6500 pump running on my 65g seahorse tank which gets fed 2-3 times a day. No issues with restarting and the soft start feature is very nice. Flow is great. I am running it at only 28 percent since it is too much for my 20 long sump if I push it more than that.

This is encouraging. Though I havent put water in the system yet, I just picked up the dct12000 for my 150g build.

Nice sump setup and plumbing. I am using the Icecap K120 skimmer and am very happy with it. What model is that you have there?
